The already making the rounds of the interwebs Elijah Craig Rye

Hmm, I wonder what gap this is meant to close... especially when there is no gap left between Ritt and Pikesville. At this proof point I'd be more convinced if there was a decent age statement like the good old EC.

Definitely interested in the McCarthy's cask strength.

As for the EC rye. If it's a way for Heaven Hill to keep Ritt at its current price, then sounds like a good idea to me even if I have no intention of trying this new bottling.

Next Wild Turkey Master's Keep is a 17 Year Bottled-in-Bond offering:

https://www.ttbonline.gov/colasonline/viewColaDetails.do?action=publicFormDisplay&ttbid=19261001000050

Very cool, but how much is this going to be? $200+ easy MSRP and it will be very difficult to get a hold of I imagine. This year's release did not seem to live up to the hype based on the fact that I have passed on a couple in MD and seen several pictures of un-purchased lottery bottles here in Virginia. Personally, I just didn't want to drop $175+ on a 9 year old rye. A 17 year old bourbon will definitely draw more interest. I believe 17 is still tied for the highest age statement on a Wild Turkey release (right?).

Yeah, seems like a little ( a lot?) too close for a company that has any lawyers at all on retainer to let pass.

I assume it's already in court... or very soon will be, if one can request a C&D before a product actually comes to market.   ...Not familiar with laws regarding a situation such as that.

Lists two distilleries DSP-KY-67 and 69 on the label.  How can it be bottled in bond?

Bottling can take place at another location as long as it's properly identified. The attached George Dickel BIB label is an example…

My understanding is some of the barrels were aged at Camp Nelson (a defunct distillery that turkey bought)...the rickhouses were registered under dsp ky 69. DSP KY 67 is ‘the’ wild turkey distillery at tyrone, ky. Since the barrels were aged in a bonded warehouse under a different dsp maybe they had to list it??

I would guess that more BIB than not have two DSP's listed if you look at the labels over the years, as noted distilleries are required to list all of the DSP's used for production and bottling.

This is one of the barrels purchased at the charity auction last November at the Bourbon Crusaders event when we bought ours.

These guys are an hour or so up the road from me and have put out some good MGP barrels in the past. I'm as confused as you are by the suggestion of finishing with no info.

The Barton labels don't really offer much insight as to what makes this new entry to the market different or special...if it's indeed supposed to be (and, of course it's always hoped by the distilleries to be so received, I imagine).

Maybe they should have called it "collapsed warehouse".  It could be the sequel to the well recieved CEHT Tornado story. ?

They very well may be private label brands for some retailer, in which case they don’t need to be different or special (see Total Wine’s Two Stars product).
