They very well may be private label brands for some retailer, in which case they don’t need to be different or special (see Total Wine’s Two Stars product).

Agree this is the most likely case

[*  *  *  *  *  and a BUNCH of LE/Specials/one-offs, etc., which I deleted to save bandwidth]

Is it just me, OR are the major bourbon houses going the way of "Scotch" and just making stuff up so we'll buy weird stuff?  I mean, CEHT Tornado I can see (having tasted it), but how different is it from basic CEHT?  IMHO -indistinguishable.  Worth twice the price of CEHT SmB?  Not to me.  Uncle Nearest's intro offers, and its back story (which, like the back story of the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", was "mostly true") were OK.  This new stuff?  Pass, everybody, and let's go back to the bottom shelf to recalibrate our palates.

ASIDE - Is it just the Fall Season and consequent change in body chemistry that has me getting picky or has something (like a new Black Hole) opened on the Astral Plane and tilted our Galaxy in such manner as to cause this ennui?  In other words, I feel slightly out of sorts.  SEE - the next ASIDE.

THE NEXT ASIDE - Out of sorts?  THEN, it's time for a refill.  After that, as Samuel Pepys wrote, "And so to bed."
