Just got home from a day in Frankfort, KY. Frankfort is less than an hour drive from home here in Bardstown. We spent part of the day at Buffalo Trace where we joined tour6 at 2:00 pm.  The tour was with a small group and our guide had extra time to answer questions and expand on the video highlights. We stood in the Bonded Warehouse for about 20 minutes soaking up our part of the Angel's Share.  The tasting was better than average with four products available, starting with Wheatley's Vodka at 80* then White Dog at 125* to get our attention. Next up was Buffalo Trace 8 year at 80* followed by their Bourbon Cream at 30*.  The visitor center only had Wheatley's Vodka and the Bourbon Cream on the shelves. We finished the day at Cattleman's Roadhouse with a big slab of Prime Rib. This was a good day trip. Next up - Four Roses.

BT was one of our favorites.  We did the Ghost Tour last April and drank some White Dog, right out of the still!

The grounds are beautiful. The rickhouses and many other buildings date to the 1880s. We walked to the Blanton bottling line right past the WL Weller bottling building. It was about the size of a one car garage. I asked the guide if it was what it said it was and he grinned, saying no, that is just a sign they put on it. He said from time to time they sign certain contracts and documents in it just for the mystique surrounds WLW and PVW.
