Spring has sprung, so perhaps time to start a new purchase thread.  Picked up a couple of bottles this past weekend.  Kilkerran 8 Year Cask Strength, and a random Signatory 16 year Glenlivet, NCF and distilled in 1998, and matured in 1st fill sherry butt.  Both should be pretty interesting.

Off to a slow start here in Las Vegas. I've found quite a few dusty single malts in oddball bullet-proof shops near the strip, but nothing worth the trouble of flying back with. At least I know where they'll be if I have a change of heart. This Pullman, however, looked interesting...

I would imagine it would be fun to compare that to an older Nadurra, you know, for science...

I picked up my first bottle of Highland Park to dive a little deeper into Scotch.

Sorry, had my facts wrong on the previous post. Found this 1979/2004 “Seagull Label” gathering dust on the shelf on the outskirts of Las Vegas today. It was a memorable adventure with a particularly participatory taxt driver....

A friend of mine purchased this today, he said that the 15-year-old was fantastic so he thought this would be great. 1FEB130C-C9B1-40B0-8FFA-EB11FC58F2D1.thumb.jpeg.6622b30f2f17a1b37e8af292c8a800c1.jpeg

Doubled up on the SB 21 (it's very good...), along with a GF 21 store pick (48%) and the new Kilkerran, which should be interesting as it's 3 years old.

Yes is it. It is ridiculously good in my mind.

Yeah, I need to pick one up. That's a must buy for me every year.

Trying to build a relationship with the little grocery store I walk to on weekends for a bit of exercise—

From the dusty little LS in Dallas an hour walk from the downtown hotel. I hit four other shops on the way there and was ready to throw in the towel, but persistence prevailed.

An hour long walk is a lot more dedication than I would have had!

Picked up a Lagavulin 16yr (although waiting for allergies to ease up before cracking).

I'm thinking Lag 16 would help clear your head

I may try that tonight!  I did open her up, and could get some of the smoke - but when that smells 'faint' - I know it all ain't working :)  But maybe a couple ounces might help!

Picked up an Aultmore 18.  Enjoy the Aultmore 12, and figured I would give the 18 a try.  While I was at it, also bought a Deanston 12.  Been meaning to give Deanston a try.

The packaging choices on this one were quite disappointing— lost the shoulder coin and the outer box scuffed the label to death— hopefully the liquid is tremendous.

A pair of tens-- nothing exotic but my hope is that they'll provide nice strength of distillery character at a lower proof. Plus, another G&M Distillery Label...

I picked up a GM Mortlach 25yr on the way to Bardstown, and shared it with everyone that wanted to try it at the Sampler cookout Saturday. Given the change in the level of the bottle’s contents, I think it was fairly well received by those who dare to venture to the dark side at a more bourbon centric type of event. I think it’s very good, and was very reasonably priced for a 25yr scotch.

I also picked up a Caol Ila 18yr unpeated (2017 LE) that I haven’t opened yet, but have high hopes for since the 17yr one was so good.

I like Deanston 12, the switch to 46% was really beneficial to that one though superficially I think the current label is less attractive than the first iteration at 46%, the Whisky inside is still good though.
