Saw an empty space today at the ABC for ECBP. The regular EC was next door and probably 10 deep. I always look through the bottles to see if some barrel proof is hiding with his brother. Sure enough,  2 bottles. But, at $62.99, it was a pass.

Thought to find much better than that. $61 is what I have gotten mine for.

Ohio price is $49.95. Who would have thunk we would have good prices?

Difficult to find in Indiana unless your timing is right or you want to pay up.  The current typical price is $59.99 to $62.99.  I know a few places where it is sitting on the shelf for $79.99.  Some places put it in their periodic lotteries so never hits the shelf.

Not Bourbon but OrphanBarrel Foragers Keep $399.99

Yeah, that one is a bit of a marketing mystery.

You can get a lot of scotch for 400 bucks.

My favorite local store has an app. The problem is that they don’t keep it updated. So I went in thinking they still had 8 bottles still of WTMK 17 year in stock but they really had 0. So I was annoyed and passed on everything else including a bunch of ECBP A119.

If I had to guess it's Diageo's way of trying to build more hype around one of the closed distilleries they own that has less hype than Brora, Port Ellen and the like.

Odd thing is that the two recent cask strength Pittyvaich Special Releases were less expensive by a good margin.

Elijah Craig 23 - $350

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof - somewhere north of $150

Willet Rye - I forget the price

and others, in general priced too high for me, my Unicorn list is shrinking.  Having said that if I ever find ER17 or Sazerac 18 I will sell a kidney!

Passed on this, was intrigued but I thought JD BIB was supposedly going to be distributed outside these duty free bottles.

Passed on this, haven’t seen Blanton’s in the Houston airport in probably three years.

Got this it was on my duty free list but didn’t expect to find in Houston. Thought I’d have to get it inEurope.

Also didn’t pass on a $12.50 Evan Williams Black.

I like EWB but man that hurts.

Trust me, the more you drink, the less it hurts.

St. Cloud bourbon at $115.00. I met Ray Walker at TOTC during a seminar detailing the brand development, but it wasn’t compelling enough to put the bottle in my basket.

Passed on Weller 12 for $80 and a family sized ER for $65. These may be regrettable passes.

On no planet should one buy a fifth of W12 for $80

If one wants it, and one has the means, one should pay whatever one wishes. ;)

I’m going to revise the Rule of One:

If one wants it, one should pay whatever one wishes; more so, if one has the means.  :D

That ER big boy probably would've found a comfortable spot in my bunker.

Gonna side with Ben Franklin on this one
