Thought I'd struck out on this one but managed to find one in the end.

Nice one-- I can't believe it's been 16 years. It would be cool to SBS this bottle with the first WIP release.

That's awesome. I was late to the party, didn't start trying them until the later WIP releases. I can't believe it's been 4 years since the 12 was released, it seemed only very recently!

My wife came home and dropped this on my desk this afternoon.  I just might keep her around for a while longer ?

Yeah - the last thing my wife dropped off at my desk . . .  well . . . wasn't anything even CLOSE to that!

Picked this up at auction for the same price it originally went for through a ballot. Thanks to people trying to flip everything these days occasionally the auctions bear fruit.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just when you think it isn’t ever going to show up (and I ain’t chasing anymore) and pretty much put it out of your mind that one particular bottle shows up out of nowhere.

Will have to put this in the rotation to try soon, perhaps alongside the previous Cab Sauv!

A mist rolled in while working in the yard, and forced me inside.  Which ain’t a bad thing, as I picked up this Glenfarclas 12 earlier today and it is helping me shake off the damp chill.  Very meaty and full whiskey.  Tingly spice on the back of the tongue.  And, I just love saying Glenfarclas in my best Scottish brogue... ?

Bought a K+L 27yr teaspooned Linkwood.

Gotta be ready to represent when International Whisky Night (tm Bruce) could re-emerge from the ashes of a pandemic at a moment's notice...

Love these Lowlands… this was much easier to secure than the earlier Daftmill releases.

Looked at that Glendronach as well...very tempting for an end of the year present to myself.

I carry a well-weathered bucket list of six obscure and nearly impossible-to-find single malts in my backpack. This Glen Ord 30 from 2005 that just arrived is one of three I scratched off the list in 2020.

Picked up a Laphroaig Cairdeas Port & Wine Cask yesterday.  @#$% head cold delaying enjoying a pour, but something to look forward to in 2021.

These odd Dalmore sample flasks keep resurfacing at retail. Hard to say no @ $5.99 for 100mL, meaning you could rebuild a $300.00 King Alexander III bottle for 45 bucks.

Hard to beat sound logic like that!
