Damn good.

The description of where it was distilled definitely makes it Cooley.

Indeed it does. And a refill (typically sherry) butt is around 500 liters or 132 gallons in size. It would have to be filled to the very tippy top to get 675 bottles out of it! So I doubt it spent much time in that “single cask” before it got bottled.

Visiting Black & White round two.

I still like it.  I decanted the family size into some smaller bottles.  Anyway, this time I'm tasting a little more of the malt notes in the blend.  Ralfy didn't steer me wrong.

When I picked this up, I noticed some White Horse, maybe dusty.  I'll get to that too eventually.

And the cork issues persist… although understandable for this 2004 bottling.

So, you have umpteen hundred bottles, and you’re complaining about losing a cork?

Sheeeeeesh!  ?

I have a couple of unopened Talisker DE's bottled in 2011 and 2012. I wonder if their corks will fare any better??? Anybody want to help me find out? B)

I also wonder what the damned code on them means?

Yours is TD-5:5FR. Mine are TD-5:5OA and TD-5:5NZ.

If it even means anything at all!

Enjoyed a sample of Longrow 18 yr this afternoon.  Damn tasty single malt - really nicely balanced!  Fruit, peat, chocolate - everything a growing boy loves :)

Some Miltonduff which is rather spirity. Hoping this one opens up a bit as the bottle progresses. A fair amount of water does this good.

I was waiting for the right occasion to open this bottle. My last PM conversation with Vosgar was in regard to independently-bottled Dailuaine-- so I thought it was fitting. Thinking of you Gary.

A Glenlivet Code in lovely Madison, WI. Odd to find this at a hotel restaurant, but they certainly were proud of it.

Another round of Black & White.  I wonder how hard it will be to replace when gone.  A tasty easy drinker is fun now and then.

This is incredible-- especially for the incredible "End of Bin" price.

Happy National Scotch Day.

I’m still exploring  Scotch and just getting my feet wet.

I figured these samplers would be a good way to try some new ones out.  Tried one the other on Friday and one today.  Great price on these.  I have to say I find the Lagavulin kind of disappointing. Will give it another go.  I think I like Clynelish the most.

bot sure what I did with the other picture but it had Caol ILA, Talisler and Clynelish.

Falling for Clynelish is a dangerous proposition.

Almost posted this in the American rye section by mistake. I just couldn't wrap my head around an Irish rye. If you topped a shortbread cake with mint and honeydew melon it would be this whiskey. So both rye and Irish... Glad I tried it. Won't be looking for a backup.IMG_20200814_161713.thumb.jpg.12996e200b08b3b48e9eb20c25b1d81a.jpg
