Old Forester single barrel store pick.  Going to have to go back and grab a couple extra bottles of this one, as it is much better than I remembered from the first pour.

I've found some of these to be pretty good. Can't wait for the 100 proof and Barrel proof picks.

EHT Single Barrel  lots of butterscotch tonite....and some Redemption 10 year  barrel proof Bourbon (Nice stuff...how do y'all feel it stacks up to other 10 year MGP)..I feel it's really good but not quite at the level of the OKI, Chattanooga SBs that Ive had.

I definitely prefer the OKI - down to my last bottle.

Sipped some Willet Pot Still and Elijah Craig 12 yr store pick over the weekend, neither disappointed.

The vanilla bean nose on the EC is unreal.

I thought about my freezer bourbon, HHBIB,  then thought I would step it up tonight. Gary and I, back in October, compared info on these Binny's bottles. You can read the distilling and bottling info on the bottles. Both were distilled on the same date, just aged a little longer on Gary's bottle. We were supposed to have a sbs this past April in Btown. Alas.......

-Gary's 58.9%..warehouse BN, barrel 31-2v

-mine 57.2%..warehouse BN, barrel 31-3j

Whenever Gary had a picture of what he was drinking, it was always a healthy pour. So, tonight it's a healthy pour to celebrate Gary and OESO cousins.

Prost Gary!  Phil

I would tell you what I'm drinking but that would take all the fun out of it. :) Let me describe it and you can probably guess what it is.

Damn This Is Good Stuff

And if you've never played please try. Same small group that keeps this going.

Ok so the JM Cigar Blend was so awesome I had to go back for a second pour.  Love this whiskey.

But to end the night I didn't want to drink up all my Cigar Blend so I had to look for something else.  After such a great whiskey I knew I couldn't go back to ordinary, it has to be bold.  Ah, Stagg Junior there you are.  Batch #5 129.7 is a nice follow up and does not fall short.

@Kepler, my apologies, I know this is absolutely shameless of me, but I must say that it warms my heart to hear that you've been enjoying Cigar Blend batch #9! It has been a few years since I made that one, but if I recall correctly, it was part of the same "coupe mere" (mother blend) as batches #8 and 10. I wasn't a big fan of batch #8 (not that it's "bad," but that barrel didn't pick up enough notes from the Armagnac barrel and it didn't quite develop to my liking), and while I really liked #10, I loved #9.

This week I'll be working on the coupe mere for batches #35 - 40, which will be going into 6 new Armagnac casks just as soon as I get it figured out. The current proofs on CB have tended to be a little over 120.

With that, cheers, and good imbibing no matter what your drinking!

Nancy

So my wife and I took a day trip to Traverse City today. Stopped by TB distillery and picked up a bottle of their bourbon and a bottle of their cherry bourbon to add mtommthe RV stash. I like these much better now that they make their own stuff rather than back when they sorted from MGP.  The cherry bourbon was well balanced and will make a good mixer. Had lunch at one of our favorites, Apache Trout grill. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

I'm back at the RY 100.  The funny thing is, it's sourced from HH, same mash bill, but tastes better than Larceny (HH's own brand).  Go figure, and a few bucks cheaper.

This won't blow away people that drink the really high end stuff, but how many wheaters do we have you can just buy anytime (besides MM).

When we were in Traverse city yesterday, I picked up a cherry ginger ale to go with my cherry bourbon.  Had to try them together tonight. Unfortunately, the sum was not greater than the parts. More like Luden’s cough drops had a love child with WT101

Playing a few rounds of BJ here in Tacoma at a Casino. I asked the server if they had any bourbon and with a quick reply said “we have Jameoson” ... so I  passed and walked  to the bar myself. I was surprised to see this and some ECBP C919 on the bar. Knowing this is a casino I prepared myself for the price.

drum roll.... $15 and she gave me a double. I’ve passed this at store after store for the north end of $400 and glad I have. But at $15 a pour++ I’ll drink it like I’m playing blackjack... go ahead house, take my money!

I found a NAS EC really cheap ($17.50).  I always thought the 12YO was a little too oaky.  Decided to give the NAS a try.  I think I like this a little better.  I little sweetness and still some spice but less oak.  I also thought it was a little hotter than I remember but has been a while.  Will continue to buy if I can get it close to this price.  Not sure that will be possible.

Corn, check!  Wheat, check!  Barley, check!  Vegetable and grains.  Much better than a V-8!

Finished off a bottle of OF100 and then followed up by opening up my last old style ECBP bottle, Release #11, 139.4 proof.  A little sample neat and then a pour proofed down to 110.  This is the only bottle I purchased of this release.  It is really warm even proofed down a little.  I believe it is close to A120 which is one of my favorites.

I'm fairly new to this but I had a few Rebel Yell and a couple of Bulliet.  Feeling nice right about now and about to retire for the evening.  *Bourbon thoughts dancing in my head*
