Having some Sagamore Rum Finished Rye. It’s okay, but the finish is really short. I won’t be buying another bottle.

So apparently im the only one buying ryes lately... A rather modest haul this week. I hadn't tried the CoK before. And its ok, unique is maybe the better term. Im pretty pkeased about the rocket top 2. Later this weekend I plan on doing a sbs with batch 1, which I really liked. And the Irish ryes were $20 per.

I always forget how great this is.

I may be off on the time frame but it seemed to disappear for a few years around 2016 to 2019.  Right before it disappeared, you could find a bottle for $25.  When it came back in 2019/2020, the price was $40.  Now, the price is in the low $20s.  Yes, please and thank you!

Nice cup!  I have had several of those but I end up throwing them away.  🤪

It never really disappeared in Missouri, but was only available in liters for about $30.  It was slightly harder to find at certain times, like holidays, but not for long.  The 750ml’s are a newer development I believe.

This was $25 with a $6 mail in rebate at the keystone state store.

The cup is an official marriott neat cup.  The choice of road warrior whiskey snobs everywhere.

The 101 rye won out against Elijah Craig, OGDBiB, and Woodford in my final decision. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I keep looking/drooling, but can’t pull the trigger.
I need a good work bonus or something to come along…

So they are indeed quite pricey. But also very tasty. The sherwood is one of my favorite pours ever. Its along the lines of the redemption 10 year profile, but with quite a bit more intensity in flavor. Lucky for me I pass one of the 2 brick and mortar shops that sell these on my was home from work. In store is quite a bit less expensive then online. Still quite an investment on the set though.

Kilbeggan rye is fantastic stuff! I would have bought a case if I could at that price. It hit the states along with their single pot still (also great) last year and then I never saw it restocked anywhere again. I MSRP on the rye is ~$35 if I remember.

My batch 1 is getting real low, so cracking a batch 2 for some comparisons before saying bye bye to the 1.

This stuff is actually really good. Never had a whiskey finished in Norton barrels.

Hey Ralphie, be suspicious of where those barrels were aged.

JEP px sherry cask rye while starting some pit beef and ham on the grill. I don't think this bottle is going to make it through the cook. But luckily I still have a few more in the bunker.20221029_153218.thumb.jpg.3dccd7a702a17e2e26bc56d215d8ff93.jpg

Haha!! The WP, though being 100% rye, is a little more delicate. The New Riff is a non apologetic slap to the jaw, just a big ol' spice bomb.
