The smokiness of the mezcal plays so incredibly well with the green Chartreuse. So good. I’m nursing a bottle of green chartreuse. It hasn’t been on the shelves down here. I’m not sure what those Monks are doing!

Local pepper vodka, Beau Monde seasoning, a few splashes of celery bitters and chipotle bitters, bloody mary mix, and a spoonful of horseradish. Garnish with a couple strips of bacon and jalapeno stuffed olives. Yummy Prost!! Phil

smokinjoe
In Sandestin, and I brought a bottle of OF 1897 and Bittermilk’s #1 Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Fashioned mix. Makes a pretty good, quick, and easy, old fashioned. A little goes a long way, though. Enjoying one now after a nice lightly overcast day. Nice break, as it’s been bright Sun and hotter than balls since we got here…
flahute
Last night I tried a banana boulevardier. Yes that's right. It's very important to use a high quality banana liqueur - none of the cheap stuff. Either the Giffard mentioned below or the Tempus Fugit (which I have) is what you want. Here's the recipe:

After an Old Fashioned, which was nice but not getting it done - opted to pull out the bacon-infused bourbon from the freezer and go for a Suckling Sour. Ahhh . . . . now it's Friday night!!

Phil T
First one of the summer, Ranch Water. Oh so simple and delicious. 1800 blanco, key lime juice, and of course, Topo Chico. I was first introduced to this in Houston probably 25yrs ago and instantly fell in love. I sometimes am challenged to find Topo Chico and refuse to use any other mineral water. Prost!! 0895
Buffalo Trace old fashioned(s) over dinner with a good work friend tonight after we put in a 10+ hour day of working a trade conference. Logically I’ll never quite fully understand why BT makes such damn good cocktails, but it does. These are exactly what I was looking for tonight.

0895
Dumped a batch of Heaven Hill BA manhattan today. This barrel is well worn, and I let this one go 11 weeks in a 1 liter barrel. It ended up being about 70/30 JW Dant BiB / TW Samuels BiB and Antica Vermouth. (Add bitters in the glass when drinking) Retains hints of the nice hot cinnamon profile from the T-dubs, balanced oak from the barrel, and really nice manhattan flavors. My BA manhattans are always quality over quantity, and this is no exception. Poured a couple sample bottles for friends , a glass for myself, and ended up with a full 750ml for the future.
