mbroo5880i
I have had an incredibly productive week as the "Garden Muscle" for my wife's numerous gardens. I dig, she watches. I plant, she watches. I mulch, she watches. Then she says maybe we should these plants somewhere else. I dig, watches. I plant, she watches. I mulch, she watches Then she tells me we have even more to do tomorrow. Time for a couple of pours. BT then up the proof ladder. After couple of pours, I might suggest more plants to plant then move. Nah, who am I kidding?

I like the ER10 okay, and I don't care for this Stagg Jr release at all. I read about this from a fellow SB member, (whose name escapes me), but it really works. I did the same thing, except with BT. As a Cheap Bastard, I didn't want to use a more expensive bourbon. Seriously, that was back when ER was solid and BT meh. Now, it is the opposite. My last two bottles of BT have been worth the Jackson and Lincoln I paid for each. The last several ER have not been worth the Jackson and Hamilton I paid for each. Yet, I have not seen a Stagg Jr., Stagg, whatever it is called, since release #3. It is a lottery item in Indy. One very ADHD observation. The fill level of both bottles is exactly the same. Even Lucy is surprise by the coincidence. Or is it? You would have a quite special night if you matched the fill level of all three...ER, Stagg, and Glencairn tonight.

I do think ER is just okay. This one was a pick that I thought was going to be great. Live and learn.

Actually, I just noticed that in the first photo the label on the bottle was obscuring the actual fill level. Or was it?

Kepler
BBC bonded 6 yr wheater. (I have no idea what the SB abbreviation for this new bottle should be... BBC6BiB? Lots of B's haha). I really like this one. Oh, btw it feels great to be on a little vacation. Midweek pours are nice! Edited May 24, 2023 by Kepler

So I'll try one once I'm back up there this summer. Unless a mule happens to bring one down to PR first. I'll be curious to see how it stacks up against 2022 versions. Though after having had the Bookers 30th Anniversary that Richnimrod so generously shared in Kentucky, I'm probably ruined forever after. Ruined. PS: My daughter referred to our exchange in Paris as "resembling a drug deal" and added "but an efficient one". Saucy, that one. That Booker's 30th Anniversary, what an opportunity that was, wish I was there! And yes, your daughter is quite right, it did resemble a drug deal. Sitting in my car, parked by the sidewalk on an illegal spot, waiting for the stash to arrive. While waiting, 2 cops knock on my window, telling me I cannot park there...... Then you and your daughter come up with 2 suitcases full of liquor and the car booth exchange starts, hilarious! We still should do the story here!

markandrex
A beautiful afternoon here. Time for a glass of HH BiB 6 year (old white label) while enjoying the sun on the deck. Also, someone has a grill on and is bbqing something wonderful.

smokinjoe
A totally weird day started early, and ended on an even weirder note. So, a few small sips from a couple of different “special” bottles hoping for that special readjustment, but they were just not getting Joey back on track. Reached for WT101, and all has come into focus. But, that’s the reason I went to it. WT101 just always seems to be on point.

IamMatt
The head chef is out of town for a while with her sister so I am left to my own culinary devices. I check the freezer and hiding in the back is a white butcher paper package the shape of a shark's fin. Lo and behold, a lovey T-Bone steak from the butcher! So starting off with a glass of Calumet 15, and will have a glass of my current favorite zinfandel with dinner.

fishnbowljoe
Bourbon & cigars with our small local group tonight. A couple of guys couldn’t make it, but an old friend showed up. A bowling teammate that bowled with me, another guy in our group and @Vosgar came by. Pours of Jefferson’s, Fleischman’s Rye, and JD Triple Mash were enjoyed. Enjoyed even more were the bowling stories about our teams and @Vosgar. Slightly bittersweet, but oh the stories, and lot’s of laughter. Cheers Gary! . “Same as it ever was.”
