Hey, Jersey!  I like that Benchmark lineup.  Good whiskey, at a nice price.  I like Elvis even more.  To me, this is the mountain top:  🙌

Thanks, I  share the same Birthday with Elvis and have always been a fan...

Although I love the Blantons and ER, etc., sometimes the frugal side of me comes out and the new BM line up hits the spot on those occasions, 🤣😂 Love the video 👍🤙

Sipping again from the Copper and Kings bottle tonight.  Definitely feeling all 111 proof tonight on this one.  Kentucky hug, apples and cinnamon.  I think I'll put this aside for more Fall-like weather.

Bomberger '23. Glad I stocked up on this one. Flavorful, reasonable proof, a little sweet, I like the flavor that "whatever oak they used" imparts. Sounds like it has some malted rye in it, may account for the sweetness. Well-blended. I'll be curious to see how '24 compares.

After a long off site vendor meeting, I stopped by one of my favorite liquor stores on the way home.  Picked up a 1792 Full Proof.   I’m killing it right now, at end of day.  For me, 1792FP can run hot at times, but when it’s good man, it is damn great.  This bottle is great.  Over a cube now, and chatting with the girls, it’s even better.  😍

Has anyone had ECBP B 524? Thoughts?

It's very good.  Of the last 7 batches of ECBP I ranked it second to C923.   130 proof, 11 yr old IIRC.  Definitely worth a buy if you can find it at MSRP (I know some places jack up the price by $10-30)

I have one Bomberger bottle somewhere in my bunker but I've never tasted it.  I didn't know much about it, and when my local store called me to tell me they had one with my name on it, I just shrugged and said "sure."  Since then, I've heard lots of great things, so now I'm looking forward to trying it one of these days.

Watching the Brewers beat the Mets tonight on my cheap bastard TV plan (antenna on the roof since 2013).  Lucky for me it's on Fox.  Tonight I begin delving into the Wild Turkey 70th bottle with a small pour blind SBS against regular 101.

I have come away with 2 initial impressions: 1) It doesn't slap you in the face right off the bat like 101 does-- kinda gives you a little sweet candy to soften you up first.  2)  For the same money, I am more likely in the long run to just buy more RR SiB. Definitely not wasted money on the 70th bottle though.  As always, I reserve the right to change my mind, even drastically so, as the fill level lowers.

Continuing to eliminate low-fill bottles from the 'regular rotation'.... I drained a Private Pick of Eagle Rare yesterday into my smallish flask (almost 4-ounces, I guess) and took that along for an extended visit at the funeral home where the family of my daughter's MiL gathered.   This was among the more interesting (to me anyway) ER's I've ever had.   We sorted through only 5-barrels to easily settle on this one about 8 or 9-years ago.   This barrel exhibited a notable cherry flavor I rarely find, though others tell of getting it in some examples.   This one had it in spades!    I have only one bottle from the case-plus-one I bought when they arrived.   (The distributor offered the tasting panel one 'freebie' to each who bought a case...Yay!)

So, anyway, now I have one more opportunity to pull something from the bunker and get it into the 'rotation'.    I'll have to give it some thought.....

Celebrating Washington's 16 consecutive scoring drive with the herd...

The Commanders have finally found their franchise QB. I believe he is already a top 5 QB.  Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, Allen, Daniels.  I am a McLaurin fan since he is an Indy guy.

Enjoy the pour.  Enjoy the ride.

To celebrate the Mets making the playoffs by winning game 1 of their double header vs. the Braves, I'm having a pour of ER from the bottle I opened at the beginning of the season. It was a wild game, one of the best i've seen as a Mets fan.

To celebrate the Braves making the playoffs by winning the other game of the doubleheader, last night I killed off the last two pours of Old Dominick SB CS store pick.  👍

Yet another low-fill bottle is being targeted: 1792 BiB.   IMHO, some of the best distillate to come out of Barton in a very long time.   Hard to find unfortunately, at least in The Mitten State; thus my aversion to emptying out my last bottle.   But, empty it shall be soon enough.   Maybe 2-more pours in there.   I'll get 'em into a Glencairn in a few days, I suppose.
