I've been giving this another shot over the last few evenings. I still don't care for it. It is very tanic to me. I don't mind tannins much.... in small doses, but this just lingers on too much for me. I really wanted to like this. I just don't.

Richnimrod
Took a break from draining the low-fill JD BP SB to drain another of my 'sample bottles' from some time ago. This one was a rather larger one than most; 4-ounces. It was a Booker's "Bluegrass" from early 2016, almost 128-proof. (Nearly did me in!) Not quite as good as the "Toogie's Invitation" Booker's I killed off a week or so ago; but, very nice, as nearly all the Booker's bottles I've ever tasted. The usual profile: peanut brittle, brown sugar, caramel, and alcohol burn (more so that the Toogie's). So... another one bites the dust!

It's one of the factors that have prevented me from buying a bottle. Thank you for sharing

Probably says "distilled in" with a location in fine print on the back label. If it says distilled in Indiana, then it's MGP.

Hard for me to even get a tell on it by taste either tbh.

Yeah being Kentucky there's no telling who made it. I'm not familiar with that brand personally so I don't have any idea either .

They dont just have a line of whiskies, but they are an online retailer that has built up some great connections with good brands. Despite owning a retail shop in NY, I still just bought a Dark Arts bottling from them that isn't available here in NY otherwise. They also have some pretty good glasses that I think are comparable to Glencairns.

There are so many 'Johnnie come lately' brands of NDP sourced whiskey, I can't keep up.

Anyway, I went back to the Whiskey Tree thread. It turns out Barton happens to be (75/15/10) mash bill also.
Mattk
I hopefully finished my war with the yellow jackets in the front yard today. So a bourbon seemed just right. I decided to have a pour of this jbdc i happen to own.
