gblick Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 In Will Smith's movie "Hancock", he's seen flying with a large bottle of something that's hard to determine. Then later, he's in a store and he brings two bottles to the counter, and there you can clearly see that it's Gentleman Jim's Bourbon. He and most of the other characters also drink whiskey however they alternate between JD and J&B. J&B shows up in a lot of horror movies, I notice it most in Italian movies, someday I'll have to give it a try even though I'm not a big scotch fan. Weller Special Reserve? Old Crow?it had a white label, round bottle, longish neck....and he used it to start a fire...it would HAVE to be ... what proof??? I believe it was Old Forester, but I'm not 100% positive. JoeI think it's Ezra Brooks or Old Ezra. I remember noticing it shows up in the bottle, too. There is more whiskey in that film, too... I.W. JoeI have seen WildTurkey, Knob creek, as well as many scotches on this show. His bar is located to the right of the kitchen and is in the back ground behind the couch that he watches TV. There’s even a scene where we see him coming out of a liquor store with, presumably, several bottles in his cart to add to his stash by the cellar stairs. Whether sitting back telling Todd his stories about his time in the German army during WWII or murdering a homeless man whom he thought was on to him, Dussander keeps his Black Crow at close hand and in good supply! There is a brand called Black Crow but I could find very little info on it, the partial picture (all I could find) I saw of the label on one for sale didn't look the same as the one in the movie at all though. It could be an actual knock-off brand, but it's so close that I think Beam would have sued, ala Brown-Forman's suit against Barton for Ridgewood Reserve. I could swear I've seen older Old Crow in the same or similar bottles and that label is very similar to the current label. Odd how it's got a tax strip, the movie is from the late 90's and I think it takes place present day. It is probably a coincidence that her character in Juno jokingly asks for a Makers Mark strait up when she is talking to the future adoptive parents of her unborn child.
