Announced earlier this week. I wonder if it's going to be a rebranding of the EHT 18 Yr Marriage. At 100 proof, it's going to have to be pretty old to be interesting enough to add another Mashbill 1 offering to the BTAC lineup. E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is joining the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) for the first time in fall 2025, marking the lineup’s first expansion since its inception in 2006. The addition honors Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr., a foundational figure in bourbon history who helped establish the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, America’s first consumer protection law. The new BTAC entry will be 100 proof, aged longer than the standard E.H. Taylor Small Batch, and built on Buffalo Trace’s low-rye mash bill, though final tasting notes and age details remain under wraps.

Went to a bottle share last week and someone brought the new Keeper's Release. I liked it more than I thought I would because it tasted almost like a toasted or double oaked bourbon...no idea if it is one or not...but it didn't wow me. As I posted earlier, Makers Mark largely misses for my palate, and I've mostly learned that wheaters in general are like that for me. I tend to gravitate to the bold and spicy notes from ryes more. So don't take this as a condemnation of the Keepers Release either, there were several at the party that enjoyed it.

It’s pretty decent bourbon. Open it up and have a pour. Please post some tasting notes.

What bourbon did you purchase this spring season of 2025?

I like your strategy. -
Boss Hog is always high. Seems about normal for that to me, but I haven't checked prices on it years.

Would you care to share the approximate price? Being a 700ml bottle it does seem likely that this is a surplus bottle originally destined for the international market, so curious what those sell for. -
Kepler started following Tin Cup 10, 14 year and Knob Creek 21 Year
-
I'm not familiar with that program ... does it involve shipping? If so, I'm sure Texas is not eligible in that program.
-
I tried one of the earlier Tin Cups at some random store sample (I don't think it was age stated and I'm sure if it was it was not anywhere near 10 years) but I wasn't impressed enough to buy a bottle. Curious, does it say "straight whiskey" on the label? I could be misremembering but their first products were not straight whiskey if I recall.

The thing about doing a tasting with WTKS is it's single barrel vs. a batched product (that will probably be a lot more consistent). What I recall is barrels for WTKS are 8 years old (but not listed on the label). Some I've tried tasted very similar to regular WT101. Others were fantastic, and others somewhere in between. It's kind of like with HMcK - you find a bottle from one of those honey barrels, you march your a-s-s back to the store. But, then they're all gone. -

Absolutely! To me the 70th is a perfect textbook version of Wild Turkey. By the book...aged oak to carmel, vanilla, etc. The WT8 I thought had a little more of that WT rickhouse funk, and a strong cinnamon finish that was really very enjoyable. On the nose out of the bottle is a different story however. I got Dill Pickle Sunflower seeds. A very interesting whiskey. Or....maybe I'm just crazy. -

How pricey is this one? -
I have the batch 2. Maybe the best bourbon in my collection. Looking for a 14 year now

I saw a Boss Hog again yesterday being offered at $500. Seems high for this

I’m sticking with my mantra of only shopping after a medical appointment. This is to placate my wife’s concern about the size of my bunker. My boys are not concerned and normally help themselves when home. It might take a large Uhaul when I’m gone though so, I understand the concern, I just don’t share it. Back on topic, 2024 4RSBLE. -

I’m not certain if this is boom/bust or tariff effect but I ran into 6 700ml 2024 4 Roses Sm as ll batch LE this morning. The manager said the rep told him they were diverted after the tariffs kicked in.
