What Bourbon Are You Drinking Summer 2025?

This is the first RR SIB pick I've bought in probably 3 or so years. While it isn't up there with the CNF 6th floor picks from 2019 and 2020, it's better than the few barrels I had around '21-'22. I forget which warehouses those picks came from.
  3. These local raffles are starting to prove much more fruitful than TW Grand Reserve.

BT to add EH Taylor product to BTAC line

Read an article that BT is doing EHT LE for $1500 in a decanter called the Distiller’s Council. It’s BiB and supposed to recreate the original EHT recipe from the days of yore. NAS of course.

The kid steps up to his ball. Looks like he’s got a pretty good lie…275 to the pin…should be just a smooth 8 iron for this big hitter…here’s his swing…He got all ‘o that one…IT’s IN THE HOLE!!!

What Bourbon Are You Drinking Summer 2025?

The other day, I pulled down a 'special' bottle from the top shelf, as a soothing salve for my disappointment in the state of our national political discourse. (As good a reason as any, right?) (Though, I'm aware this complaint ain't nothun new, eh?) But, I digress.... I had a generous pour from a now-below-half-full bottle of William Larue Weller from 2013 (I think), 136.2-proof. My Goodness! What a lovely dram this is! I barely remembered how wonderful it was until I got my nose above the rim of my Glencairn. Then I recalled why it was placed on that exalted shelf. This is something like "Bourbon Syrup" would be to Bourbon the way coke syrup is to Coca Cola. Just so intense! Yet entirely drinkable in tiny sips... interrupted by frequent nosing, as that part is nearly as enjoyable as the tasting. Nirvana in a tasting glass! I need to decant this gal into something with less 'air-in-there'.

    Empty Bottle Support Group 2025

AMEN!!! I have a couple bottles of that OF BiB and the jury is still out on whether it's worth it, or not. I like it...but not sure if I $60.00 like it. For the $$$, I prefer Bulleit BiB....

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Barton, since it says it on the front of the bottle...
  13. The right direction for me is a local brick and mortar store that is having a good sale. If I'm lucky, I get to check out some stores when I travel out of state. (That doesn't happen very often.) Indiana does not allow booze shipped to us. Any company that says they will ship it anyway - a big red flag. Also, any entity with only an online presence (no actual store) - a really big red flag. Even if I lived in a state that allowed shipping and dealt with a legitimate company - price would be super high due to S&H. No Can Do

I wonder who sources it for them? How is it?

Maybe my most versatile whisky. I drink it best, on a big rock, as a mixer and it’s cheap. I we Buffalo Trace in the same way enjoy
  16. As long as the price was in line with other NAS 90 proofers - I would've had to satisfy my curiosity too. Joe, when you open it, give us your best guess who made it. Lately it seems Barton has been trying to corner the market on the sourced Bourbon for store brands.
  17. See @PaulOyou stay on SB long enough you get pointed in the right direction!

Hope your gal over at Maker’s doesn’t find out.

  20. Was gifted this Redbreast Cuatro Barriles and Waterford rocks glass from Mrssmokinjoe and Littlesmokinjoe, upon their return from a trip to Ireland. The Redbreast is: American ex-bourbon, Spanish oloroso sherry butts, Portuguese tawny port hogsheads and European virgin oak casks. Very much looking to crack the Redbreast open. But, petrified to use the glass, as I’m such a clod I’m afraid I’ll break it…

My wife had to go to Sam’s Club today. She called and asked me if I wanted one of these. I figured why not.
  22. I don't know anything about the brand. Bottled in bond and an age statement would make it very interesting to me. About the color, could've come from a barrel with extra char, and or stored at a top floor of a warehouse, exposed to lots of heat.
  23. That is one of the bottles on my short list. I have even become a bigger fan of the rye. For both
  24. Lustau is headed to the bin! Thankfully I have a backup. this one is worth a repeat purchase.
  25. That is a very deeply colored Straight Rye - for any age under 15-years! It almost loox like something could've been added for that purpose. Against the rules, I know. Let us know what it's like. I've not seen this brand.
  26. Emptied my Bunnahabhain 12 yr bottle last week. It's a very good one. I would definitely replace this one, but since I have a 12 yr cask strength and the 18 year Bunna already open, I'm in no hurry. I kinda feel that a person doesn't have to purchase both the regular 12 and the 12CS. Just pick one and go with it, as both are excellent and a good value for the money.
  27. I also recently picked up a Bespoke release compass box. I haven't opened mine yet.
