I keep hearing about how Buffalo Trace is hard to find. It’s a shelfer in Texas. I find it to be a good mixer at +/- $25 a bottle

Guero 15 YR American Light Whiskey Finished in Pinot Noir Casks
rzelinka replied to Scotch_Collector's topic in Other American Whiskey
Is the Penelope 15 year much different from the 17 year American Light Whiskey? I really enjoyed the 17 year. Haven’t sampled the 15 year. I found the Jacob’s Pardon to be good but I preferred the Penelope. -

I’m in Alaska this week and was able to try my first Alaskan Beer. It’s their white offering. Not too shabby. Anyone else tried Alaskan Beer? -
BOTM 07/2025 Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof
rzelinka replied to Jazz June's topic in Straight Bourbon Of The Month
I really enjoy Old Forrester. I picked up the Old Forester Single Barrel 100 proof last week. I think it’s better than the 1924. For all I know, maybe it’s the same. I have been told 1924 and King Ranch are the same, but that seems a stretch to me as I taste and smell different profiles there. Now the Single Barrel Barrel Strength is a whole other level to me… -
I am not a fan of BT. I find it bland and very monotonous dram. A ok to good store pick ( I have not had a great btl of BT EVA!), another story. Picked one up the other day that I quite enjoy. Convenient store pick. Who knew? Lol. It is almost gone. Sometimes!

MSB replied to Jazz June's topic in Straight Bourbon Of The Month
I prolly stand alone on this but, I feel the Bonded is the poor mans version of the SBBS. And I am a poor man, cheap bastard, one who doesn't mind spending less..... I am not saying it is as good as SBBS but I do find similarities. Kinda lime 100pf OF and 1920. YMMV - Yesterday

Woodford Dbl Oak. Like to keep a few in the bunker. Summer in the Hamptons , prices rising........... -
When it comes to BT, you have to suspend your common sense and logic. Best not to ask too many questions.

Whoa! I lived in Cincinnati for 22 years and did not know about these. I know about the abandoned subway tunnels but these are much cooler. -
My Recent Bardstown Weekend - My Son's First Trip
flahute replied to DPPSmoker's topic in Distillery Trips
If you like Mexican, another option for a future visit is La Herradura in Bardstown. Don't be fooled by it's appearance in a strip center - it is very good and they have a bourbon bar. -
You should ask if they'd be interested in donating to your mathematics education fund.

What rye are you drinking or purchased 2025
kcgumbohead replied to Mattk's topic in American Rye Whiskey
Double dipped today, picked up a Chattanooga CS rye and a JDSBBS rye to replace the one I emptied last week. -
Regular Buffalo Trace is still allocated in my state. Stores get it somewhat regularly, but they don't put it on the shelf, it's still a backroom item that they'll dole out to known customers, but it's always $35-45 which is crazy to me. I travel to Louisiana for work fairly frequently, so I often buy a case or two to bring back and share at cost to my buddies that always want it. Sometimes I can find a store that will knock a few bucks off if you buy a whole case, but it's not often. So last Thursday I'm in LA, stopped into a store I'd never been in before, and there's rows and rows of BT on the shelf for $24.99. Usually in LA the price is $25.99 or $27.99. Sitting right next to them are three 1.75's of it, but for $99.99. I asked the clerk if anyone actually buys the 1.75's and he said they don't get them very often, only 750's, but when they do get 1.75's they sell out within about 2 days. Somebody make it make sense...

Bulleit Bourbon pronounciation?
Richnimrod replied to Matthew Harvey's topic in General Bourbon Discussion
Definitive pronunciation: "Bob". Easier to say! Spelled the same way forward or backward. Pronounced identically forward or backward. What's not to love, eh? Or . . . Maybe not.... -
Oh my, that looks sooooo good

I really enjoy what Jack Daniels has to offer. I’m on a cruise to Alaska and came across a different packaging for the Bonded, which I find at $30 is exceptional -
