    So, whatcha smokin?

La Perla Habana Grand Pearl in the morning. Great with crappy coffee!@
  3. Today
  4. "that team from the mid west" heehee!
  5. True!!!! I am not loyal to "A" team. I know that is not the norm. I just want good games. Saying that, I really wanted ARK to play a great game and have a chance of winning. No chance of that from ARK. I've watched them for several yrs and all they do is break my heart. Lol Side note and thread drift more... I am so mad that I turned the TX and that team from the mid west at the start of the 4th quarter to watch the battle of Iowa. Great game but fugg my a** that I missed one of the greatest comebacks eva!!!!
  6. Awesome choice for BOTH @Jazz June I agree with the sentiment on this one, ... in that *if* "value" and availability is considered, it's a great nomination for my outright bourbon of the year. I find it to be equivalent to some of the better ECBP batches. If I'm not misremembering here I ranked it below ECBP B525 (which is really excellent) and ahead of C922 (which is still an above-average batch) when I added a few drops of water to those to bring it down to roughly equivalent proof as the '26 PGA release. That's impressive when you consider the price.
  7. Thanks sir. Yet another failure on the national stage for OU, ... I'm used to it by now lol. As the country watched and hoped for revenge for that Michigan vs Western Michigan screw job last weekend. Oh well, it's just sports and still a fun diversion from the dull everyday stuff. Cheers!

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2026?

I too have slowed my roll down on buying and drinking whiskey. I have enough for a loooong time. I am drinking beer and enjoying the crap out of it. Maybe it is a defensive habit to protect my liver so I can drink more whisky later????
  9. Fuggin funny, sir. I had a difficult time trying to decide who I wanted to win that game. It was a good game, but I too am disappointed da' Sooners fell.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2026?

I passed on the new HH Double Mash 9 Yr for $47ish. Was that a mistake? I'm sure it's a fine bourbon but I have enough fine bourbons in my bunker. I think I'll wait for it be $35.99 some day and then give it a try. I just don't feel like I'm missing anything in the meantime....maybe I'm just bored with bourbon in general. I'm finding rye whiskey and scotch more interesting these days.
  11. Having a pour of Stellum Black Equinox blend. It's a solid MGP, overpriced at retail but mine was a good pickup in the bargain bin for $39.99. It's my choice on this Saturday of college football after watching my team crap the bed against a mediocre Michigan team today. This bargain bin bourbon is fitting because it's obvious we selected our offensive coordinator from a bargain bin as well. Overpriced and over-hyped QB also matches this bottle at MSRP, hehe. Oh well still a fan tomorrow. Boomer Sooner and cheers!
  12. Watching the ARK/UT game enjoying a Rainier beer and RR 10yr. The RR has been great to me and my taste buddies. Years ago when I first tried this I did not care for it much. I preferred the SiB. And still do but this has become a favorite budget friendly, consistent, available, delicious lower proof pour every time. Cheers all!
  13. A FINE Choice for SBOTM! I agree with flahute - easily one of best releases this year... and at one of the best price/quality ratios to boot. A fine pour at just the right proof point. Well-balanced and very much typical HH, at among it's best presentations. Hard to beat in my book!
  14. It's a winner for me too. Both Heaven Hill mashbills and at +/-$50, can't go wrong
  15. I picked it up for $30. At that price it's a buy every day of the week. All that I enjoy about Elijah Craig and the higher proof.
  16. With all that you have been through, it's good to hear that you are able to work on the house.
  17. I am enjoying the heck out of mine. I could sip on that all night, unlike most other ryes. I am looking to back mine up with another and would like to back that one up as well.

    Cocktail Hour - 2026

Our bartender told us that he'd been bartending for 10 years before coming to Death &. Co and when they did the training he had to unlearn everything he knew. They brought in the experienced bartenders from the other locations for the training.
  20. It was at our gathering last night but I never actually tried it. It had some stiff competition. Not pictured was a WT "Cheesy Gold Foil".

What Bourbon Are You Drinking, Summer '26

It's crazy good. I know it's not exactly an "apples to oranges" comparison, but it's better than the 7-year to me.
