What bourbon did you purchase this spring season of 2025?
Skinsfan1311 replied to MSB's topic in General Bourbon Discussion
I hit one of my favorite LS to re-up on KC12 & JJBSiB. The 12 was overpriced, so I'll get it somewhere else. The 18 was $169.00, so I blew the cobwebs out of my wallet & bought it. -
Pork is my preferred meat for breakfast. As a youngster, we had homemade sausage most Sunday mornings along with waffles and scrambled eggs. Great memories.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

If you were at the Total Wine in The Woodlands around 7 pm, then it’s entirely possible that we both were standing there at the same time noting the very same thing. I was in the aisle maybe 15 minutes and there were six bottles when I got there and I grabbed the last one to donate for a gala fund raiser event. I went back for the Old Forester Single Barrel Rye, but someone grabbed the last one. -

I was at my local Total Wine yesterday and noted a whole bunch of Small Batch Eh Taylor. Just out in the open, sitting on the shelf. Crazy. -

Just yesterday at my local total wine I noted a bottle of Old Forester Single Barrel Rye. It came in at 128 proof. I pondered it, but passed. Someone snatched it up quickly -

My wife and granddaughter went out shopping today after my granddaughters soccer game this morning. They went to a number of places looking for prom items and other things. At one vendor/antique mall, they even found something for me. I named him BT. Baby Thunder. Some of y’all will know. So, I’m having a pour or two of BT this evening. Cheers! -

Well, at least it’s 100 proof and a minimum of 4 years old. The price around here had been $47.00 for quite a while. It recently went up to $53.00. FWIW, the tubes are empty. I’m saving them for a friend. -

Passed on CEHT Small Batch on the shelf at Total Wine yesterday for $65. Just while I was in the bourbon aisle, there were 2 or 3 guys that picked it up at that elevated price. I can't imagine paying $65 for non-age stated BT bourbon when regular NAS BT (with the same mash bill) is sitting right next to it for $25 with no limit. That yellow cardboard tube must really cast a spell over those taters -

I like a good chicken-fried steak & eggs on occasion, but generally I agree that a pork chop & eggs will fill the bill even better most of the time. I prefer pork as a breakfast/brunch meat usually.

Prime Dry-aged Sirloin Strip cooked Pittsburgh rare on the Napoleon infrared burner with a wee dram of Booker's 2024 "The Reserves" (shared by @Anwalt in Bardstown). A great "Derby Day" dinner! Typical European style, Caesar Salad followed closely behind (HONEST!!!) -
Pork chops with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The Julep was just out of view .

Great Derby Day! 10 of us pooled $50/each on a bottle. Drew numbers last night and picked horses today. I had pick #4. 2 and 3 picked my choices so I went with Sovereignty I bet the birthday, the trainer and the horse loves the CD track. Great luck and I will post picks when I get the prize. Juleps in the glass, going to be a PVW15 for the evening celebration!
