  2. ^^This. This is also how companies' finance managers look at it. They don't look at it as only a dollar or two per individual bottle, like some of the comments above. They look at the volume numbers that they are moving. If you multiply $1.50 savings by 100 thousand bottles that they move of a particular SKU, the company saves $150,000.00. That's a middle manager's salary in the company that can be eliminated. Just one example. This is how these things work.

    2025 Unicorn Season

Let’s hope you are off on the character. Reviews are mixed online. I love the Calumets 14/15/16 so some additional oak won’t bother me. Price is ridiculous but for a $50 in on a pool I’ll take it. Thank you Sovereignty! It will get opened at a get together with all of the group and their spouses.

What rye are you drinking or purchased 2025

If you join the New Riff Whiskey club, they'll keep you updated on the latest releases. They make them available to Whiskey Club members before they're offered to the general public. A few of them are "one of" releases, but I believe that some of them are available early, before they're released everywhere and shouldn't be too hard to get. The catch is that you, or someone you designate, has to pick them up at the distillery. Fortunately for us, a friend of ours lives almost across the street from New Riff, so she picks them up for me and mules them North during football season.

    2025 Unicorn Season

I don't know about the packaging....the first thing that came to mind when I saw this is that cheap, and horrific smelling, cologne my Grandpa use use to wear in the 70's....
  8. I picked up a bottle of this at my local Total Wine last month. I enjoy wheated bourbons so a double wheated was worth a shot. I don't know that I would replace it when it's empty. That said, I can say the same for most of the Old Elk varieties. The double wheated was good, not great. At it's $90 price, the Bardstown wheated which is about $25-30 less is a better offering to me. Anyone tried either?

    It sure does like nice.
  12. A darn good bourbon for $22. I picked on up a few weeks back.
  13. There's a scene in White Christmas where a a dishonest hotel owner is referred to as a chiseling rat. Now I know what it means. Thank you!

What’s open on your bar? 2024-???

These are my main go to bourbons nowadays. I feel fairly comfortable with my open bottles, and the backups I have in my bunker. With the Blanton’s, EH Taylor, ER, and Weller SR, I have one bottle open and three in reserve. I have two BT’s open (1 ps), and 4 in reserve. With MM and MM 101, one of each open and at least one of each in reserve. No worries about MM though cause they’re readily available. Other bottles I currently have open are ETL, RHF, 2021 WLW, my 2024 Weller Blend, and my HH BIB Blend. I have a few other “reserve” bottles waiting in the wings just in case. Stay tuned.
  15. Weller’s is fairly easy to find here too. The special reserve is often easy to find at msrp I would be happy to help

    Man Down-Man Up

  17. I appreciate that, but I have a small stash from a few yrs ago that I prepared for the discontinued distribution of said juice. I have picked a a couple btls since to compare to my good ole days btls.. Lol Thank you for your generous offer. Now let's talk WELLER'S! LOL JK
  18. Well it’s pretty easy to find here so I can hook you up if you need me to
  19. The BiB is pretty easy to find in most markets, as far as I know. I have not had a problem acquiring one any where. The SiB is another story. As stated above it went KY only for some time. Sad for most of us. Maybe not those that had it when it was aged for a longer period of time( not me) but some of the longer in the tooth folks here. jk Just those that have been in the bourbon world longer than others. I can't find the SiB like I used to 3+yrs ago( almost anywhere) but it is showing up now days but more hit or miss. This was/is one of my favorite Sunday morning oatmeal pours. Pour it into your oatmeal instead of water. (Not really but I think it could easily be done and enjoyed) I am just not THAT GUY, yet.
  20. They did go KY only for a lil while. Not sure exactly when it went "national" again but my guess is in the last yr or so. For how long? We will see. Looks like they saw the boom bust before most of us. Happy to see it again!

  22. This evening the choice is good old OGD 114. This is IMO, one of the best, very affordable pours out there. Love this stuff.
  23. Interesting. I can get it at my local total wine. Just checked their website. This is the one from my collection I think we are talking about?
  24. Anwalt meant to say the mutant yeast was Four Roses, not the OF BB.
  25. They didn't used to be hard to find before they were discontinued in Texas, so I hope they will be an every day shelter again. Found an article below about them becoming a "Kentucky Only" bottling from 3 years ago. Evan Williams Single Barrel Is Now Kentucky-Only
  26. Sounds like DFW is priced about the same. This one was $34.99
  27. Larceny, C922. Rightly hailed as quite good at the time, now forgotten and available for more or less MSRP. From such "dregs" does wonder arise. Silly taters.
