What Bourbon Are You Drinking Spring 2025?

    KC18 in the glass...
  3. Great score on that JB Distiller's Cut. That was some sort of fantastic one off batch they did around 2017, long gone for most. Fantail WTKS, a cool bottle for sure.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

I have a bunch of them in my stash too but I'd never pay $65 for them. I think the most I've paid was $45ish and even that it doesn't make sense in comparison to regular BT. I find that it tastes better than BT but not by THAT much. I still have a certain love for CEHT SmB, but that love was built back when it was $33-35 while regular BT was $20-25. The value is no longer there.

What Beer Are You Drinking In 2025

Well, tomorrow is Conco de Mayo, and the beginning of hotter weather and Mexican beer drinking. I like the gulpability of an ice cold Corona after yard work, or other hot chores. I’ll also go with Estrella Jalisco, Pacifico, Modelo, and Dos Equis, but the first two are my stalwarts.

    Bourbon Smoker

Pretty much on line with what Gary says above... Couple years ago, got a Tophat from one of my Sons & a fancier one from another Son on the same Christmas. The Tophat is quicker to use and good for a couple drinks only. The fancy one; better for a several drinks at once but not really used much, here. I'm guessing it is on line with the Breville. Not hard to use but no so much worth the effort, at least to me. If you are partying with a group, you can get some mileage out of it.

    Empty Bottle Support Group 2025

    Amazing color on that!
  11. I get to post here for a change...a buddy of mine is severely downsizing his collection. I went over to grab up a few drinker bottles of rye to help him out, but ended up scooping a pair of bourbons as well.

    What’s on the menu????

A well prepared Bananas Foster is about as good as it gets in a dessert, for me. Yours looks spectacular!
  14. I don’t think you’ll have any regrets. I love how balanced and consistent it is.
  15. I picked up a bottle of Old Forester King Ranch yesterday for $79. My local Spec's had it for $12 off. I had stayed away from it as the reviews have not been great. That aside, I cracked it open last night and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the bottle. Happy I bought it. Anyone else given it a try?
  16. I hit one of my favorite LS to re-up on KC12 & JJBSiB. The 12 was overpriced, so I'll get it somewhere else. The 18 was $169.00, so I blew the cobwebs out of my wallet & bought it.

    What’s on the menu????

Pork is my preferred meat for breakfast. As a youngster, we had homemade sausage most Sunday mornings along with waffles and scrambled eggs. Great memories.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

If you were at the Total Wine in The Woodlands around 7 pm, then it’s entirely possible that we both were standing there at the same time noting the very same thing. I was in the aisle maybe 15 minutes and there were six bottles when I got there and I grabbed the last one to donate for a gala fund raiser event. I went back for the Old Forester Single Barrel Rye, but someone grabbed the last one.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

I was at my local Total Wine yesterday and noted a whole bunch of Small Batch Eh Taylor. Just out in the open, sitting on the shelf. Crazy.

    BOTM 05/2025 Old Forester Rye

Just yesterday at my local total wine I noted a bottle of Old Forester Single Barrel Rye. It came in at 128 proof. I pondered it, but passed. Someone snatched it up quickly

What Bourbon Are You Drinking Spring 2025?

My wife and granddaughter went out shopping today after my granddaughters soccer game this morning. They went to a number of places looking for prom items and other things. At one vendor/antique mall, they even found something for me. I named him BT. Baby Thunder. Some of y’all will know. So, I’m having a pour or two of BT this evening. Cheers!

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

Well, at least it’s 100 proof and a minimum of 4 years old. The price around here had been $47.00 for quite a while. It recently went up to $53.00. FWIW, the tubes are empty. I’m saving them for a friend.

What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

Passed on CEHT Small Batch on the shelf at Total Wine yesterday for $65. Just while I was in the bourbon aisle, there were 2 or 3 guys that picked it up at that elevated price. I can't imagine paying $65 for non-age stated BT bourbon when regular NAS BT (with the same mash bill) is sitting right next to it for $25 with no limit. That yellow cardboard tube must really cast a spell over those taters
