What Bourbon Did You Pass On 2025?

The OF100 rye? What's "the good price?" Around here, Baltimore Metro area, it can be had for $24.00. I can't imagine finding it much cheaper....
  4. Ya never know. lol I would try some at that price point of $36/$40.
  5. It's a good marketing gig. My eyes were drawn to those bagged up bottles. On another note, one of our local LS had a bottle in a glass case and wanted $99.00 for it!
  6. It could happen! Here locally it WAS in the 60-75 range for a while but as @JCwhammie pointed out, its now 36. Its good. I like it. Its worth 36. Not much more.

  8. Price go down, I have to laugh at that. I don't think I've ever seen that happen around here. lol HH and Henry McKenna has shown up though. I think $50 and $70 a bottle.

I was grocery shopping and spotted a two bottles of Old Forester Rye. At this store, to get the good price, you have to buy six bottles at once. Sorry to say, I could not find four other bottles I really wanted. I sent an email to the manager to see if she can come up with more of the OF Rye.
  10. I'm pretty sure the Old Ezra is the standard Heaven Hill that Luxco sources. So for $80, think about all the Heaven Hill brands you have available - high end bottles, or multiples of mid shelf.
  11. I definitely wouldn't buy it for that. I'm in St Louis, and the price a local shop has is $36. Wait a while until the price goes down in your area.
  12. This is the most I have spent (49.99$)on that btl. I wouldn't spend more than that. This is the 1st time I have bought one since 2019ish??? The price skyrocketed and I never took another look. But like everything your budget, palate, desire,.....varies and only you can decide if it is a good deal at 70$+... IMO, i'd wait and see if the price drops, if I wasn't clear enough. Lol Side note, I haven't tried the rye because of the price. I just figured it was over priced due to the whiskey craze. Anyone have an opinion on the OE 7yr rye?
  13. Hey if it's there I'd chose one too. But like you, I'm not going out of my way to look for one.
  14. Years ago, you could get Bulleit in these bags. It didn't cost any extra and regular ol' Bulleit has never been tater-bait. It's used to crush ice and works really well.
  15. Having a belated birthday pour. 2018 OFBB in my glass.
  16. Might as well. I use a Blanton's bag to hold tees in my golf bag....

Working on a couple of space hogs. A family sized WSR from about 10-years ago or so, and an Old Forester Signature family size from about 9-years ago. Both are still near-half-full, and that's a good deal of Bourbon; but, I'll keep at 'em until victory is mine! AND, I must say it's a tasty battle to wage. HA!

    Eagle Rare 12yr

YouTube channel Mash and Drum did a review of this and, according to Jason, it's better, but not significantly better, than the 10yr.
  19. I would buy Blanton's whenever I saw it when it was $50ish. But those days are gone. It's not worth current msrp, IMO.
  20. When HH BiB 7yr. got to Calif., I bought a bottle and a friend and I did a sbs with the 6yr (a bottle I traded a OE BP 7yr for) and EW BiB. The 6yr was the winner followed closely by the 7yr and the EW. Needless to say, at the current price, I haven't bought another but I've bought multiples of the EW.
  21. It's a ripoff all right but, that's what it's going for in my area at stores that don't mark up. Needless to say, it's been a long time since I bought one..
  22. It’s 3 with & 3 without per 6 pack, kinda the same as Blanton’s. I don’t specifically chase bags, but when I was picking my Old Fitz up, the price was the same with or without…. So I figured Im taking the stupid bag since I paid for it.

  24. Sounds like a good title for a documentary. Chase the Velvet Bag--a taterospective look at the current state of bearded Millennial whiskey hunting.

  26. Saw a bottle of the Old Ezra 7 BS going for $79.99 today. Is this a ripoff or what?
  27. Around here, the stores have to keep the flavored CR locked up in the glass cabinet.
