Awesome pint glasses! I really miss the old labels, especially for the Amber. Thumbs down on the new packaging. On my trip to Alaska, I snagged a fridge magnet (which I do for any place I visit) and a Christmas ornament, which is like a miniature 6-pack. As Christmas ornaments go, I'm usually all about traditional Christmas themes (not alcohol related for sure!) ... but I have to admit the Alaska Amber ornament has become one of my favorites. Attaching a stock photo because my own ornament is stored away with the Christmas decorations.

It’s very rare that any American brewery can pull off a Kolsch that’s worth a darn. I remember seeing Alaskan’s, but knew better than to try it. The white is solid (wheat ale), And some of the IPA’s. But Amber is always in our regular rotation here. Lucky to have it distributed locally. We actually went through a lot of trouble hauling beer glasses home in our carry-ons from our trip to AK years ago. They are slightly faded after 13 years, but still going strong! @rzelinka If you get up to Fairbanks, I highly recommend a visit to Silver Gulch Brewing.

I'm with 0895 on this. My favorite is their Alaska Amber. I also remember enjoying the White ale, probably my second favorite. I happen to have a sampler 12 pack from them in my fridge, but the White is not included in this sampler. I recall not being very impressed with the Kolsch (the one with the Orca whale on the label). Overall I enjoy their whole lineup though.

One day I will add this bottle to my collection. Maybe one of the best bourbons I have ever sampled.

The Amber is really good. I’ve enjoyed most of the ones I’ve tried from them.

The only empties I've saved are BTAC and OF Birthday bottles, plus a few really rare things like 4R Elliot's Select, stuff like that. Everything else I am very happy to send to the trash/recycle bin, because I always need the shelf and bunker space. And like you @Thomm I find some bottle shapes make good utility bottles for refilling after removing the label. I like the OF "Whiskey Row" series bottles as well, plus the older Wild Turkey and current JB Old Tub bottles also have that same "old west" style too. The small W.B. Saffell bottles are also great for refilling/decanting home blends when you don't need a full size bottle.

I have a hard time parting with the Four Roses Single Barrel bottles. Back when I could find one, John J. Bowman bottles seemed too lovely to just discard, although eventually that's what happened to them. I did hang on to a few OF Prohibition Series bottles for a while. Soaked off the labels and filled them with water and into the fridge with 'em. They have a certain Old West cowboy appeal to them.

Ive been getting these awesome bone in ribeyes from a local boutique grocery. But they are bone in, and not on the tiny end of the cut. I trim them to make perfect steaks. But my large beef rib collection grows. Ive been planning on a giant demi glace cook. However tonight I just felt like a stew. Baby saz again as I make a braised beef rib stew. Also the splatter is just from this meal, and shows up drastically in this photo. I try to keep a very tidy area, but this cook splattered a lot.

I guess it's an Old Granddad kind of day...

They say the only dumb question is the one you didn’t ask. With that being said…. Do any of y’all find it hard to get rid of certain empty bottles? Pictured below are my current empties. I have no problem sending the BT and MM to the big brown bin. I’m not sure about the ER and Blanton’s though. I have about 12 or 15 empties I’ve saved over the years for various reasons. I may add the ER and Blanton’s to those. Thoughts?

Taking a couple day relaxation trip to Cumberland Falls, KY. A side trip to the Liquor King in Corbin, and picked up some bottles that are not available at all back home, or at least spotty availability. Very glad to add some Cooper’s Craft 100, as I was down to my last bottle. The VOB brings me a smile, as it’s been a while since seeing it, even on some earlier trips to KY and TN. The River Roots “Guardian” was a gift from one of our extended family that we meet up here every year for the family reunion, AKA Hootennanny.
