I had a pour of WTKS today to celebrate my release from rehab hospital. 27 days in surgery/rehab is not fun. One surgery down, two to go. All went well. Two weeks of outpatient rehab then back to Nashville for evaluation/scheduling of the lumbar portion. Cheers! -

Just returned from our trip to Kentucky. Nerve wracking drive home. Bumper to bumper the entire way, and if you weren’t doing 80+, you risked being blasted out of the way. And the jagoffs zigging and zagging from lane to lane to gain a single spot was maddening. “Hey, dumbf***!!!”. Congrats, you gained 20’, but almost killed yourself and 3 others! And, I now have to be on your ass for the next 10 miles, not knowing what dumbass move you’ll do next that might get us killed. This ain’t MarioCart! We don’t get a do over if you send us all off the mountain because you wanted extra points, Rainbow… Anywho, after a cold beer to put the flames out, it’s now on to the VOB 100 I picked up on the trip over a big clear cube. Things are getting better… -

My north of ATL whatca smoking friend posted one of these recently. After digging around in the humi I found one too.

Thank you. You’re not the first person to suggest the same. I’m holding out for the 12 year.

I know, right? It was the first 4R that I've purchased in years and find myself reaching for it a lot. This will now be a staple on our bar. When I saw it's replacement at a Va ABC store, I pounced.

Nope! It's slightly better, but not $20.00 better. I'm a big turkey head too.

Do you feel the 8 year is worth the price over the standard 101?

Ha. Thanks for reminding me. We have one of those too. It’s usually a battle with the wife for who finds it first and gets to hang it.

Awesome pint glasses! I really miss the old labels, especially for the Amber. Thumbs down on the new packaging. On my trip to Alaska, I snagged a fridge magnet (which I do for any place I visit) and a Christmas ornament, which is like a miniature 6-pack of the Alaskan Amber Ale (I also really miss the glass bottles ... these days I only get cans in Texas now). As Christmas ornaments go, I'm usually all about traditional Christmas themes (not alcohol related for sure!) ... but I have to admit the Alaskan Amber ornament has become one of my favorites. Attaching a stock photo because my own ornament is stored away with the Christmas decorations. -
Those go down way too easy.

It’s very rare that any American brewery can pull off a Kolsch that’s worth a darn. I remember seeing Alaskan’s, but knew better than to try it. The white is solid (wheat ale), And some of the IPA’s. But Amber is always in our regular rotation here. Lucky to have it distributed locally. We actually went through a lot of trouble hauling beer glasses home in our carry-ons from our trip to AK years ago. They are slightly faded after 13 years, but still going strong! @rzelinka If you get up to Fairbanks, I highly recommend a visit to Silver Gulch Brewing.

I'm with 0895 on this. My favorite is their Alaska Amber. I also remember enjoying the White ale, probably my second favorite. I happen to have a sampler 12 pack from them in my fridge, but the White is not included in this sampler. I recall not being very impressed with the Kolsch (the one with the Orca whale on the label). Overall I enjoy their whole lineup though.
