Time to update the "Four Roses 10 recipes"...

I would just be happy with a return of the reasonably aged and priced barrel proofs of the original 10 recipes. This seems like a scenario for more allocated higher price bourbon. Stop ripping off the little man. We want to buy and enjoy your bourbon at a reasonable price. We kept you afloat when you were struggling and now you are taking advantage of the bourbon boom and making us look elsewhere. The taters will toss you aside when the bourbon boom ends and we will be long gone because you priced us out of your product. -
Crap, now there will be a major road trip down I-65 by everyone north of Nashville.

I’m having a second pour tonight. I was in the basement bar and the VOB 100 called to me. -
@FasterHorses so it’s still for sale somewhere? I hadn’t seen it anywhere in a long time even on the allocated situations.
-
Allocated in my area. (Indy). I haven't seen one on the shelf in over 10 years. Same with WSR and WL12. Here one day, gone the next.
-
Once a month if you get there early enough. Retail is $59-$79 now at least in my area. Rarely if ever on the shelf but only on these once a month allocation release days. I saw a private selection last week coming back from lynchburg. Got excited until they said $149 but you also had to buy a 1792 store pick. Hard pass. Had a friend do a barrel pick last year so i got a couple to bunker. I won one last week from the Florida ABC.. at $26.99! I know others see it quite often but i’ll let them tell on themselves if theyd like.
-
I see sporadic things on social, but I am curious. When was the last time any of you found Weller antique in the wild, particularly at retail? I can find special reserve or even Weller 12 occasionally, but haven’t seen antique 107 in a bit.

I always have a good time. "Owl house" tonight. So it's actually pretty good watching. It pairs well with a pour of new riff.

had a small pour of my CNE barrel of WTKS. It has improved since I first cracked it open. The white pepper finish it first had, has mostly faded and I'm now enjoying this bottle. I will also say the rebel port cask finish has tamed down some after being g open about a week. Still not wild about the finish, but it is getting better with some air. -

I’m having a healthy pour of WTRB b3 to celebrate the arrival of a new “deer” friend this morning. Mom returned about 1030 when her fawn started bleating. -
Cicada-Infused Malört promises ‘lobster-like flavor sensation’, says Chicago brewpub
fishnbowljoe posted a topic in Industry News
All I can say is . Those of you that tasted the bottle of Malört I brought to Bardstown a few years ago know what I mean. https://www.mystateline.com/news/cicada-infused-malort-promises-lobster-like-flavor-sensation-says-chicago-brewpub/ -
It's a hot one today. I was on more roofs then I care for. It's a daddy daughter night, as my wife is at her friend's retirement party. So I'm having an oo11 on the front porch. Already have the sushi from my daughter's favorite spot and I'm bracing for a marathon of new Disney plus shows. The school bus arrives shortly.

Time to update the "Four Roses 10 recipes"...
ThirstyinOhio posted a topic in Premium Bourbons/Specialty Bottlings
Now that Four Roses has announced 10 more recipes, we need to update that pinned post. I look forward to trying these new recipes but not looking forward to trying to track them all down. I hope they release a new 10 recipe "taster" set like they did last year. -
Just one thing about Binny’s is to try and hit one of their flagship stores, either South Loop or Lincoln Park. If you’re in the suburbs, the best stores are Oak Brook (west) and Highland Park (north).

fosmith replied to Harry in WashDC's topic in General Bourbon Discussion
Knob Creek SiB & 12yr, Rare Breed, Larceny BP, SAOS, JDSBBP are just a few at a similar price point as Baker's that I buy with some regularity and all of them are much better value than, IMO. -

Our ongoing observations about whether the boom has peaked
jvd99 replied to BigBoldBully's topic in General Bourbon Discussion
Personally, the boom peaked for me a while ago. I stopped actively hunting a few years ago as it turned into a futile endeavor. Since then, I've stopped buying most anything, except I'm still part of my LS's barrel pick club, which gives us access to the LE's, but that's it. I can't keep up with all the craft brands coming online and the majors aren't coming out with anything that's interesting, attainable and reasonably priced. I curated my bunker over 12 years, and I've started pulling from it as my primary source for unopened scotch and bourbons.
