  1. Past hour
  2. I actually cracked open the Springbank 15 Yr last night and took it for a spin. It was excellent, as good as advertised. I did an impromptu SBS with my already opened Kilkerran 12 Yr that I picked up in London in 2019 as a trip souvenir. As much as I loved the sherry influence on the Springer 15, I have to admit I was a bit surprised (disappointed?) that it lacks that "industrial machine oil" note that the Kilkerran has. I need to open my Kilkerran 16 yr soon, to continue my research...
  3. What is that, a 16 year Local Barley?

    Cocktail Hour - 2025

I missed World cocktail day, so I'm a little late to the party Old Fashioned...no orange..so I used a lemon peel instead. It's still purty damn good!

    Bourbon MEME's

    Seems like a trend.
  10. This came in the mail from Seelbach's. I am a fan of 13th Colony and their CS is typically even better.

    Bourbon MEME's

    I'm not ordering that!!

What’s open on your bar? 2024-???

I have open in the cabinet: Old Forester 100, EW B.I.B., WT101 Rye, Rittenhouse, and Smokey Joe Islay Scotch. I was thinking about fishnbowljoe last week, as I drove around Fort Harrison on my way to chaperone 4th graders at Conner Prairie.

    Bourbon MEME's

Sounds good, but I didn't pick the name!!!
  14. There's a scene in The Gangs Of New York, Di Caprio's character totally looses his cool and beats up a dude that called hin "a chiseler".

    Man Down-Man Up

    Man, you're killin' me.
  16. I know which one I'd like to drink. I saw on the ECBP site where B525 was released. 126 .2 proof, aged 11yr/6mo. That's even higher proof than my 1792 Full proof at 125. Now I have to hunt it down. How much time does it usually take (ball park) until a released batch gets to the retail market? Also, how can we tell the yield of this batch? If its a much smaller yield, it may affect things considerably,
  17. WT101 8Year, very good. Doc Swinson, KC9.
  18. Next up was HH HC 19yr Wheat Whiskey. Man this is delicious. Thank goodness this does not taste anything like Berheim with the same mashbill. I don't mind buying a dram but buying a btl if I were to find it close to msrp would be a difficult decision to throw that amount of cash down for it, especially without tasting it first. Now that I have had a sample, I would be tempted to reach for the wallet. Oh, it would hurt though.
  19. I checked mine and yes it does have quite a bit of sediment. The 8 has some but not as much as the 15. I found my 10 and it has just a tiny bit if you flop the bottle upside down. I have a 12CS somewhere but can't locate it right now.
  20. I'm sure flahute or joe could move it for you
  21. Giving a test drive with the latest version of EC BP that I have found. Tha A125, 118.2pf, 10yrs 7mo. I am terrible at nosing so all I will say is that it smells like bourbon. The palate, I am not much better at but, I got apple right of the bat with my first sip. Now after a few more sips I picked up red fruits. A lil vanilla. Not sure if I am confusing the slight ethanol burn with cinnamon?? Also pick up mild caramel. I get an oily finish as well. Overall, I like it!
  22. Last week
  23. Just noticed my 15 has a bunch of sediment in it. Not necessarily a bad thing from my experience. How about yours?

    Happy Derby Day 2025

Not bad for a 50$ bet and some luck.

    Cocktail Hour - 2025

I just want to wish everybody a Happy World Cocktail Day today!

    Old Elk Double Wheated

I picked up the Bardstown Wheated for $40. Much lower than some of their other offerings. At $40, it's a tad more than Weller and Green River, both of which are better than the Old Elk.

    2025 Unicorn Season

I never see Old Fitzgerald locally. See Weller's all the time. See Pappy's, George T Stagg, etc. Perhaps they just aren't in South Texas
