Any other Woodford double oaked fans?

I couldn’t agree more... I had this in a streaming tasting event with Chris Morris and all I could think was Butterscotch BOMB
  3. I do agree with this. Not a fan of regular Woodford, but enjoy the uniqueness of DO
  4. While I don't keep it on hand most of the time, I will say that I enjoy it much more than the standard Woodford.

    Biggest miss

A few years ago a store had a nice pick of SAOS cask strength rye for less than $40. I was smart enough to grab four of them but looking back I wish I had bought a case.

Any other Woodford double oaked fans?

I dont find it to be bad, but it has an artificial butterscotch taste to me most of the time. But as most here say, to each their own and enjoy what makes you happy!

Any other Woodford double oaked fans?

I enjoy it, and am actually sipping some right now. I keep a couple of bottles on hand typically. I do agree with Steve to an extent; depends on what you have a hankering for on any given day. Pat
  11. There are some fans here. Most of us find it to be good but situationally dependent. It's unique. I'm not always in the mood for it but when I am it really hits the spot. If I'm not in the mood, I hate it.
  12. To expand further, there are verified and documented cases of refills being sold on secondary due to some smart people finding the "sold" empties listings on eBay and matching the laser codes to refills.

    Biggest miss

I was about to say Bookers Rye because I had the chance to buy. I would have liked to see what all the fuss is about but I still stand by my decision to not pay $300 on a single bottle of whiskey. Anyway I decided on my biggest miss as not stocking up on EC12 before it lost its age statement. ECBP makes it less painful though.
  14. Picked up a bottle of Woodford double oaked recently and I'm really enjoying it. Just curious if there are any other fans out there and if you've found anything similar to it.

Empty bottles pappy Vanwinkle on eBay

There’s at least four possible scenarios. 1. Some people actually collect empties. Amongst other things, people make lights/lamps and candles out of them. 2. Yes, some folks refill and resell them. 3. Some of ‘em ain’t really empty. XXX dollars for an empty Pappy 20. Contact seller for details. 4. Bragging rights. Oh Yeah, I have a bottle of Pappy. Good stuff. I finished it a long time ago. Still have the empty. Biba! Joe

The old bottle design, I recall seeing a few.
  18. What’s the deal with so many empty bottles of Pappy Van-winkle on sale on eBay? Are people really filling these up with Other bourbon, re-capping them, and selling them as original? Why is there even a market for used empty bottles??

What Bourbon did you purchase today (Winter 2018)

Those bottles look like the BIB to me. Look right above the words "very old".

What bourbon are you enjoying (Winter 2018)?

Started with a healthy pour of WT 101. Now sipping on 4RSiB. Thinking I may finish the evening with some Stagg Jr. Batch 9
  21. Pulled this out of the bunker tonight. Kind of hot at first. Added to bit of H2O and it opened up alot = much better. Hoping this bottle calms down over time. Cheers

What Rye Did You Purchase/Drinking (2019)

If you can find one of the old 7 year bottles, they were my favorite of the lot and are a bit cheaper, I can still find some lingering for $65ish.

  24. Right now, Big Bottom Rhone Finished. Earlier it was a small nip of Belle Meade Sherry Finished cask strength, and some Fighting Cock 6yr age stated.

Interesting, I may need to pick one up, it’s even more pricey though.
