I have one of these that I haven't opened yet. I don't drink rum very often. Curious to know your feedback on how this one stacks up.

I was finally able to sample the ECBP C923 recently (not my own bottle). I agree with the hype around that one; it's excellent. I'm with you though -- I'd still rather drink RR13. It's just in my wheelhouse. Nearly a perfect bourbon for my tastes.

Doing a sbs with my 2 favorites from 2023. Dang, these are phenomenal. The slight oak bitterness of the ECBP pushes RR13 to the top, but I'm splitting hairs here. They're both big, complex, layered, smile inducing bourbons.

I think this Hard Truth is more like 4 years old, but it has nice color. NCF too.

Hmmmm. These days, 6-8 yrs for $44, is a solid bargain. If, it is that old. Anyway, it sounds like I need to keep an eye out. Have a great weekend. Cheers

I would say my room had low light conditions. But it has nice colors. Looks like a typical 6-8 yr KSBW such as WT101, ECSmB NAS or 1792 SmB.

Is it as dark as it appears in the photo? Cheers

Calvados barrel aged. Heard about this one from the Altamar folks about a week before release, supposedly a much smaller release. Haven't seen actual numbers, though.

This is a very nice craft bourbon for only 44 bucks. Nice flavors. Thanks for the heads up @mbroo5880i. Good call

This one showed up in Texas recently so I grabbed one; heard good things from a trusted source ( @mbroo5880i) I was able to try this one and the bonded wheater at a public tasting locally and I preferred this one. Going to crack it open shortly.

That is excellent rum. Brought some back from the distillery last summer before it landed in the states. TW exclusive still...

I rarely buy single barrels anymore without the chance to try it first. LS that have a tasting bar or just a bottle behind the counter are my choice. I'm sure I've missed some good releases, but I'm sure I've saved myself a lot of money on mediocre bottles.

Not so strange. I kind of do that in opposite fashion. I drink no beer as the fall cuts in. Fall in the air brings in the brown liquor...

I have become such a mescal fan since the quality of bourbon has gone down so much since about 2015. But I’m afraid Mezcal has about hit its peak. I could be wrong though. My favorite local liquor store got some official Mezcal glasses in, so I’m trying it tonight for the first time. I have to say I am enjoying drinking out of it.

Revisiting the Uncle Remus 1856. I'm liking it a lot more than the first time around...

Are you sure? I know it doesn't have the vitamins of a Dickel, but come on, corn and wheat are almost a vegan's dreams...

I just picked up the 21yr mizunara oak double double. It got positive mentions enough places I figured it was worth the chance...

Thursday was EC SiB store pick ( I helped pick), WT101 and a finale of New Riff while watching the Rome open. A good day was had.....
