  2. What I posted in another thread: For something more positive “On a different note, I’ve been seeing allocated items show up a little more frequently. I hope this is a good sign.” YES, SUPPLIES ARE BEGINNING TO CATCH UP TO DEMAND!
  3. I'm currently so spoiled for choice, I feel like there are more fancy ryes on the market then ever. It's become impossible to afford all the selection I have seen recently. So today I bought an old Forrester 100 rye to have with my wings. It did not disappoint.

What BEER are you drinking in 2024:

Nice! For years, we’d go to Helen infrequently. But, we went one October with Littlesmokinjoe when she was very young. She loved it, so we went every year well into her teens. Rented a cabin just outside Helen, and spent 3, or so, days doing Helen things, Burt’s Pumpkin Farm, panning for gold in Dahlonega, and shopping. Heck, just visiting Betty’s Country Store in Helen is worth making the whole trip! So many fond memories!! Starting this weekend with a Haufbrau Oktoberfestbier. I usually stay with ‘Merican Oktoberfest beers through September, and wait until October to go With the German brews, but this one called to me today.
  6. Maybe some JD available cheap near the KY/TN border. One man’s boom is another man’s bust. Joe Imel @joeimel KSP is on the lookout for a semi carrying a load of stolen Jack Daniels Whiskey on I65 NB near the 1 mm. Scanner traffic indicates the driver picked up the wrong trailer. 12:08 PM · Sep 20, 2024 · 9,307 Views

    Liquor Store "Huh?" Moments

TW employee just tried telling me the same thing. "Wolcott is made by Barton 1792, the same distillery that makes Buffalo Trace!". Kinda wanted to confront that BS, but just rolled my eyes and went on with my day.
  8. JBDC mixed into a couple of cherry limeades while winterizing the pool and pulling the cover on it. It is had to believe it is late September. Time never moved fast enough when I was young. Now, it won’t slow down enough.
  9. Last night was a delicious 4R OESV 9yr and a few mos. from back in 2016 that Bruce may have had a hand in selecting. Though I enjoy exploring the ever expanding choices we have amongst distilleries and line extensions, there are constants in my whiskeyverse, 4R, WT , JD, Dickle and OGD are always represented and open regardless of whatever else may come and go.
  10. WT101, OGD114, FR SiB. All good!!
  11. Now that I’ve made a new batch of my Weller Blend, I opened the last bottle from my previous batch and shared a nice sample with a friend.

What BEER are you drinking in 2024:

I had a few Paulaner Oktoberfest while working in the yard and starting to prep the pool for shutdown tomorrow. I love this hefeveiss it takes me back to Fall days in Helen Ga. We “found” Helen about 35 years ago while rafting the Chattanooga in NE Ga. We were driving around Lake Lanier and rolled into town and heard oompah bands playing. We spend the day eating German food and drinking Paulaner. I believe we also discovered Spatburgender that day. We loved it so much we have gone back every 5 years or so. We took both of our sons there for their 21 birthdays for legal drinking with Mon and Dad. My oldest son is heading there this weekend with his fiancé and friends for his 30th birthday. I guess we have started a family tradition. Beautiful little village, great food, nice hiking and a lot of fun.
  13. Some RR15 in the glass, last night of the pool. We are closing it tomorrow as the fall leaves are getting to be too much to deal with and nighttime temps are making it only suitable for a “cold plunge”.
  14. Got that right! Nice view!
  15. I've said it many times, but I'll say it again. Nothing beats a vacation room pour. Enjoying the balcony view this afternoon.

  17. I absolutely love my RC 12CS. It's great mgp. The 12CS and 16yr are the only Rebecca Creek I've had. It's worth mentioning that there is a 12yr non-CS available but I haven't had it.
  18. Correct. Rebecca 12 is MGP, not Texas bourbon @bayouredd
  19. Not sure, you are a lot closer than I. Since it opened in 2009, that would be a push for it to be their own. MGP makes more sense...

What BEER are you drinking in 2024:

Enjoying a "Cowboy Gold" kolsch with Mrs. Kepler on a stunningly gorgeous day at Snake River Brewing Co. in downtown Jackson, WY.
  21. This could change for me in the next few months, but as of this moment: 1) Woodford Reserve Double Oaked; 2) Buffalo Trace (Std) 3) Bulleit Bourbon (std). Looking to try for an ECBP (C924) once they're out and I can find one.
  22. I've wondered that too, with LUX under MGP ownership how has ALL their sourcing not transitioned to MGP exclusively? On topic, I enjoyed some more JEP Bib bourbon. I really like that distillery, I think they have a very tasty house profile emerging and while 50.00 for a bib is highish, the flavor as compared to other new/small distillery bibs (excluding Chattanooga...love them!!) of the house distilled JEP is delicious, and while not winning any complexity awards at 4 yrs, the primary flavor notes are unique enough to separate them from those others and also tasty enough (to my palate) to keep me coming back to it.

    So, whatcha smokin?

I have purchased a few boxes of the Davidoff limited editions over the past couple years and am hoping to keep at least a few of the sticks for a decade or so. Davidoffs are known to age well. Did you enjoy the flavor of this one?
  24. HH7 is $49.95 here in Ohio. I recently found some online for $32.95 and the shipping didn't kill me. The last bottles of HHBIB 6 I bought were $11.99. Dang, I sure miss those days. I still have 2 left. Prost!! Phil
  25. Last night was a pour of Larceny BP B523
  26. Absolutely! What's not to love about the 114?
