BTAC ? Any news?

I really hope that the ER is not the "tanked" stuff. I'd like to see a 17 yr right out the barrel.

I want a Weller like 2001, a Saz like 2000 a Stagg like 2002 and a Eagle Rare like 2004...I'm hoping for an even better Handy.

I'm just hoping that the THH and the WLW are, imo, old enough to carry the title "Antique" this year. Not that either wasn't good last year but I was definitely expecting something older, more so for the THH.

Yesterday I spoke with the manager of my fav liquor store, the one that makes the effort to get the Good Stuff. Nothing is definite, but he's hoping to receive the 2008 BTACs next Tuesday, Sept 2.

We all have our fingers crossed.

That is what I heard today as well.

Stores will not see it until Oct-dec though and distribution will be wider, so quantities will be lower at you local stores (all rumor - facts can only be declared post event ).

I will see if I can figure out when the BevMos are suppose to get the goods in AZ.

When BevMo get it in the supply chain it should roll out mid November. I have not had much luck getting any of the BTAC there. I have had to go to local stores in Riverside and surrounding cities. The price is a higher, but at least I can find it.

I think that Ohio's entire BTAC allocation for last year was 6 bottles of Stagg, so I'm not hopeful that I can get it locally at all.

The Bevmo's in San Diego get very few bottles of the stuff. Sometimes they don't even put it on the shelf, although it'll show up via the website. What's crazy is when I went to get the ER17 I bought a bottle from '06 during the '07 release. So I never got an '07 ER.

I barely have a 1/5 gone from any of my '07 bottles. Got very heavy into homebrewing since Jan and have pumped out 17 5 gal batches this year with another 2 five gal batches to be done tomorrow.

I'll buy it, but chances are I won't even crack them open, just stuff 'em away for awhile. I have the entire flight from '06 with about 1/4 gone!

I've been rationing my '07 BTAC bottles pretty well so far this year, been through one Stagg and one and a half Saz 18s. Won't be on the shelves up here until at least January so gotta a ways to go yet.

I think on this coming release I'm going to focus on Stagg, ER17 and Saz18. I've brewed 19 batches of beer in '08 and just picked up the hobby of woodturning.

Right now I'm working on bottle stoppers...is there a rule against tossing up photo's of stuff for sale that's not alcohol? Imagine custom bottle stoppers in your choice of wood!

I was in Frankfort today so I took the Rebecca Ruth tour and made it to BT just in time for the last tour of the day, already in progress.

When we got to the Blanton bottling hall it was too late to see people working, but there was no mistaking the stack of 2008 Sazerac sitting there. (I asked for one of the data sheets but was turned down.)

According to a couple of sources the Handy and WLW have already been bottled. That leaves the Stagg and the ER18.

At least right now you can see some empty Saz boxes (behind the Blanton's boxes) on the Web cam. I guess that means they'll be bottling more tomorrow.
