Bourbon Barrel Business Cards

I was given a business card last week from someone who works for Louisville Tourism on their Bourbon Country initiative. Instead of paper, the card is very obviously printed on a thin piece of raw wood. Printed on the card is this: "Made from the same white oak as bourbon barrels."

It's a nice touch.

Many years ago I did design work for a firm that made the displays for stores such as Things Remembered. We made the displays in the workshop using laminate. In the office we had a laser engraver, which was used as a side business of making awards and plaques. We would take some of the real wood laminate and use the laser to make our own business cards. Wish I still had that engraver.
