Tonight I am drinking something recomended on the back of My Peanut Lolita bottle it is called a Edinburg Express and is one shot of Peanut Lolita and one shot of Blended Scotch on Ice. It is very nice with the flavors of wood and a little peat, malt, peaches and Peanuts. It is most likely one one else can ever have since Publicker was the only one to make Peanut Liqour.

And I not being much of a mixed drink kind of guy still just could not resist trying this blast from the past. I used White House Blended instead of Inverhouse and I find it to be a delightful drink and rather a wakeup to your palet! I read today where somewhere on the web two guys found two old bottles of Peanut Liqour in NJ and could not figuer what to do with it. Well for me it is terrific and I am lucky enough to have some cases of it yet. I drink it 3 or 3 times a week with beer or after a shot or two and find it to be timelss in

taste and flavor and hopefully I will have enough to last the rest of my days. Wish I had a couple of cases of Old Hickory!

Peanut liquor??!! Damn, what an interesting idea. Dave, what is the proof of peanut liquor?

I've never heard of such a thing but I bet it is fantastic.

Throw a few marshmallows in there and you've got a kickass fluffernutter. Yum. I've gotta try this sometime, I'm a big peanut fan. With bourbon, too.

Cheers!

I wonder how the Peanut Lolita would taste with some chocolate liquor? I would think that the peanuts would go well with many flavores of liquors.

How many experiments have you tried, Dave?

Luna It is dam Good and Only Continental / Publicker made it. I read in Jeresy . Com that two guys found two old bottles about sometime early this spring in a Old Store there. They thought they had the only ones around but thankfully I have lots of it yet. It has straight Whiskey in it and I may have to give Jeffs idea of Chocolate Liqour in it a try. Those guys laughed at it but it is dam good I have drank a case 12 750 ML's in the Last year from my reserves. Luna It is 53 Proof and the Whiskey Flavor jumps at you but at the same time the taste of Roasted Peanuts. I have to look on the back of the bottle there is another Drink listed and I will post it here. I have had it with some Wild Turkey added and it is awesome! I called Jacquins one time and said about having worked for Continental and that they should make a Peanut Liquor their response was we don't listen to what poeple think even if they were in the industry we do what are inhouse idea's are only -- Jerks! It was one of their very Big Selling Liqours only their Caffe Lolita sold more! If you ever Find it, it is called Peanut Lolita and label says Continental Distilling Linfield Pa. It was all made in the old time Bottle house with the old Singer Bottle Machines the same way they did them in the 1950's. I will take a Picture of the bottle for anyone looking for Dusties of it when I get home tonight. Jeff What brand of Chocolate Liqour do you recomend?

My Friend is a Big Fan of Hazel Nut Liqour He tried My Peanut and said it was better in flavor and Proof!

There are many chocolate liquors and they range in price, as well. For experimentation...I would try one of the less expensive types. The one thing you will want to decide is...which style of base your interested in...cream or schnapps. The creamy style are similar to Baileys, while the schnapps style will be clear and may mention Cacao.

I might try the cream version first...since the peanut liquor is bourbon based.

One that I can remember is E&J Cask and Cream Chocolate, which is brandy based.

Thanks, Dave. I've never been a fan of any kind of "liqueurs" but I could get behind something like that.

Cheers!

Luna I tried a special Mix in your Honor and boy is it good! I call it the PJ & WT it is one shot & 1/2 of Peanut Lolita one shot of Jacquins Strawberry Cream & one shot of Wild Turkey 80 proof Bourbon Wow like Peanut butter & Jelly with strong Bourbon! Between the Bourbon in the Peanut Liquor and the shot of Wild Turkey it is awesome! When you said about Peanut & Jelly it hit me I had a few bottles of Strawberry cream and so the PJ & WT was born. The other drink listed on the back of the Peanut Lolita bottle is called a Plainsville cocktail you put Peanut over ice with fresh lime juice don't know if I would like that one.

But the Edinburg Express Peanut & Scotch is awesome!

If you ever find some Peanut Lolita I think you will love it I do It was always a Continental Distilling favorite and a big seller!

Cheers to you my Friend & Be Well

Here are different variations...maybe add some bourbon:

Mexico:

** Veracruz (Peanut) Liquor

The Veracruz liquor, is a peanut cream, not know out of Mexico, which makes it exotic. Great for after meals or for cocktails. Used with the best natural ingredients available, in a 750 ml. glass bottle.

and

St. Lucia

Castries Peanut Creme Liqour

Review: http://scottesrum.com/2007/09/30/castries-peanut-rum-creme/

"This liqueur is a mix of Madagascan vanilla, roasted peanuts, spices, cream and St. Lucian rum. It’s packaged in a very unique bottle and is the first spirit from St. Lucia to become available in the United States. It comes very highly rated - it received a 94 from the Beverage Tasting Institute and 2-time winner of BIT’s Best Cream Liqueur category, received a Gold Medal and 95 points in the 2004 International Review of Spirits."

Dave, thanks a lot for the info and for the drink in my honor, very kind of you.

Gotta try this peanut liqueur, it sounds really fantastic. I bet it would be great with a salted rimmed glass like a Margarita. Maybe with bourbon mixed in (bourbon and nuts is such a great combination) or perhaps on the side. The possibilities are intriguing.

Peanuts and lime juice are a staple of Thai cooking and go surprisingly well together in that cuisine. Add a dash of some hot sauce and you could be on to something there! Skip the ever present fish sauce, though. Great in the food, but I wouldn't want to drink the stuff.

Cheers to you, buddy!
