whskylvr
Hello,I am going down to Phoenix for a couple of days late in October. Does anyone know of any good liquors stores to visit that carry good or hard to find bourbons? I am coming from Central Valley of California and I would like to find some of the bourbons that I cannot find up here.Eagle Rare (older vintages) I can find the 10yrGeorge T. StaggSazerac RyesTo name a few. Thanks for the help,Dave

bluesbassdad
Sportsman's on the Camelback Road.GaryGary,You shame me! You whipped that out as though you've been there. I live about two hours away, and I have yet to set foot in Phoenix, much less visit Sportsman's. We've lived here four years.I have something of an excuse in that visits to Hi-Time and Spec's back in 2004 nearly doubled the contents of my bunker. Back then I feared that I might not have an opportunity to replenish my favorites here. At my present, greatly reduced rate of consumption my stash would last at least 50 years.Nevertheless, I am on Sportsman's mailing list. They often have events of interest, but most of them feature wine, not spirits. If they ever have Jimmy Russell in attendance, I'll make the drive down to the valley if only to shake his hand.Yours truly,Dave Morefield
barturtle
Sportsman's is (was? it's been since 1999 since I was there last) good. Also try Top's Liquors down near the University, they had a nice, if cluttered selection back then too.
spun_cookie
Even better is Sun Devil's Liquor in Mesa (same owner as Topps)... They have a much bigger selection of everything.... and while your at it... drive down to Tucson and you can sample from the Spun_Cookie's well
Gillman
Dave:I have been there (Sportsman's). Had you lived in Arizona when I was last there, I'd have suggested we meet for lunch.Gary

spun_cookie
I am in Tucson (Really Vail just east of Tucson). About 2-2 1/2 hrs from Glendale. If I am in town that week I will see what I can do... maybe we could meet in Maricopa. I have another buddy that lives there and I could bring some juice.
