I saw this on ebay the other day - WTAS went for $52 plus $20 for shipping.

Good to see seller "rare-breed" take one up the shorts. Even with shipping at $10, and after ebay fees, he will see about around $55 in his pocket - this had to sell for $70-75 in KY.

There has been a steady flow of this. Sometimes even cheaper, which makes me question the source of the product.

There appears to be more to this story. Can someone please explain the unspoken to me?

Nothing more than some folks here have a dislike for ebay sellers. Some are ok, but it is the "bouron scalpers", poachers and bad lurkers that get under folks skin...

I see. I am beginning to perceive undercurrents around here that must run strong and deep.

You are not wrong, but you have nothing to fear.

The essence of the SB.com community is the desire to share with friends the enjoyment of bourbon. Some of the friendships here are profound, others are casual, but all embody mutual interest.

Within this group of like-minded bourbon enthusiasts generousity is the rule not the exception.

Occasionally someone with nothing but self-serving interests skulks in. Someone looking to turn a profit, to scarf up rare bottlings based on someone else's leg work and openness, or even to stiff someone in a trade.

Anyone who has been taken advantage of in such a way is entitled to his or her emotions on the subject.

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield

If the tamper evident seal is broken and it looks like pee, don't drink it.
