Why don't we start sending e-mails to WT complaining that we can not purchase WT 8 yr old and Wt 12 old in the US and may be they will change this practice.

I suspect part of the problem is there's not enough to go around! The overseas/duty-free market has the dual advantages of being: a) relatively smaller than the US domestic market, and B) much more willing to pay premium prices.

In the domestic market, that niche is filled by expressions like Tribute and American Spirit at greater ages and higher prices still (which limits the size of the market to those willing to pay!)

I agree with StraightBoston, when distillers limit access it's because there is a limited supply.

Not always the case. There is marketing strategy afoot here as well.

If you leave a product out for everyone all the time then it because mundane.. .if it is a "once in a while thing" then it draws attention to the product and company.

McDonalds does something similar (on a different scale) with their McRib. Bringing something in and out of production is a cheap marketing tool.

I am sure you will see the 8 and 12 yr again when appropriate.

So you are saying that in the mean-time we'll have to settle for Big Macs? :)

God I hope not...

I will say that if p_e starts a compain, they will probably bring it back sooner. Just keep sending letters to the president and you will eventually get their attention... I'll join in and send a form letter to them if it is cerated. I am always game for more WT

Then I have some good news. I quote construction projects and I am bidding on the WT expansion this week.

How about something like this:

wildturkey@qualitycustomercare.com

As an avid bourbon drinker and a Wild Turkey customer I would like to see Wild Turkey 12 year old added to the regular US distribution for regular US sales. Thank You for your consideration in this request.

Just copy and send to the address above or go to their web site and click contact us and paste.
