pepcycle
Having been through several merger and acquisition deals, management cannot say anything about a pending deal. Strict confidentiality agreements with financial penalties and all kinds of other bad stuff are tied to these deals. Absolute denial is the alter-ego of "You never know". You Never Know means maybe, which means NO. No might mean yes or it could be the truth. Ain't capitalism grand?
cowdery
Considering that Constellation (i.e., Barton) is much larger than Heaven Hill, as in several times larger, Heaven Hill could only be buying Barton if Constellation were selling off some pieces. Constellation is bigger than Brown-Forman.
Dramiel McHinson
I have been informed through credible sources that the sale of KBD to HH is indeed a rumor. However, it has been interesting reading the many theories of what HH would be looking for if it were buying KBD. The spirits industry is historically one of changing hands and consolidation. Somewhere in all of the strategy is $. The artisan's craft and the distiller's art must stand by to watch the $ decide their fate.A toast to all with a shot of 12 year old Johnny Drum!
