Weller 19 Year Old wheated BourbonFRANKLIN COUNTY, KY, September 6, 2002 – The Buffalo Trace Distillery today announced that it will release its third vintage offering of the Antique Whiskey Collection in October. This year’s collection will include three perennial award winning whiskies including Eagle Rare 17 Year Old rye recipe bourbon; Sazerac 18 Year Old rye whiskey; W.L. Weller 19 Year Old wheated bourbon; and the newest addition to the collection, George T. Stagg 15 Year Old rye recipe bourbon, offered at barrel strength, uncut and unfiltered. “Once again, we are delighted to offer these ultra-premium whiskeys to our consumers,†said Buffalo Trace Global Brand Director Ken Weber. “We are especially excited about the addition of our George T. Stagg bourbon to the collection.†The George T. Stagg 15 Year Old bourbon is the first whiskey to be offered by Buffalo Trace in an uncut, unfiltered, barrel-proof state. It is being released in response to many requests from customers looking for a barrel-proof bourbon that possesses the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the Buffalo Trace Distillery. George T. Stagg, like other Antique Collection whiskeys will be in short supply, and will be available in mid-October. “We think that the introduction of Stagg will ring a chord with the bourbon connoisseurs out there,†said Weber. “We are excited to respond to the demand for a barrel-proof bourbon with a whiskey as premium as this one, albeit on a small scale.†The Antique Collection of whiskies has won multiple gold medals in national and international competitions; the current vintage of Sazerac rye was named American Whiskey of the Year by Malt Advocate Magazine. Due to the limited number of barrels, as well as the typical amount of evaporation associated with whiskeys of this age, the Antique Collection is a very scarce group of whiskeys. In addition, this will be the last year that the Weller 19 Year Old vintage is available, as our limited stocks of this whiskey are now exhausted. The Antique Collection will be released in early October, and will be available for shipment from Buffalo Trace Distillery in early to mid-October.
