Favorite Blanton's

What is your favorite Blanton's?

I have only tasted the Special Reserve 80 proof, the best 80 proofer

I ever tasted.

So when I am going to Denmark next year I plan to pick some of the others up.

But which one?

The Gold is a favorite of mine, but as Attila pointed out this is a single barrel bourbon and variations will occur. I found it to be the perfect proof (103) for me.

The only one I have ever had was what I assume to be "regular" Blanton's single barrel. I seem to remember it being 95-proof. It was superb, one of the very best bourbons I have ever tasted.

The only differences are the proofs. There are no age or barrel location differences. So, if available buy the barrel proof versions and your own water to create all the other versions.

I had some Blanton's Silver at the recent DC Metro tasting. It was superb.

Someone else's, because it's $60 a bottle here. I asked the rep at the BT Tasting if RHF and Blanton's are so different why are they almost the same price? Not only that why would I buy Blanton's at $60 in Michigan when I could pick up another Stagg?

I have a bottle of Silver that I left at Cigarnv's home this last weekend. My favorite of the Blanton's if the Gold. I have a bottle of SFTB but that has yet to be opened.

I do not have two of them here yet, but once I do, I plan on having a blind Blanton's tasting.
