Josh
I tried to search for the thread but the search function wasn't working for me.Somebody mentioned something awhile ago about a new OC 101 coming out. IS this a part of the BTAC, or somethings else? has anybody tried it? and most importantly, where can I find it?
OscarV
Old Charter 101 is a new brand, it's been out since last spring.I haven't seen it in MI but the Buffalo Trace salesman said it is coming to MI.
jburlowski
OC 101 has been available here in Northern KY for about six months or so.http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9335&page=2&highlight=CharterMy opinion hasn't changed since back then: save your money, there are better choices out there. southdeltan
It's available in Louisiana. I purchased a bottle in Delta. I don't know if this is supposed to replace the Classic 90 or not - but it's a lot different than I recall the old 12 year. sd

Josh
Just a follow-up. As another thread shows, I was able to find some at Gay's in Fremont, IN, a short drive off I-69 N of Ft. Wayne, IN. A relatively short trip from Detroit (at least a shorter one than the trip to Louisville or Lexington). I'll report back with tasting thoughts when I get to it. Still have a number of open bottles to deal with.
Josh
Finally finished off the bottle. It was pretty mediocre as a sipper. Kind of like cherry cough syrup with a slightly woody finish. As a mixer it was ok, tho. Good in sours, manhattans and makes a very nice KY Coffee.Don't think I'll get it again tho. cas
I just picked up a bottle. At 21.97 it's pretty cheap by MI standards. If I don't care for it for sipping I'll mix it. It'll be interesting to taste it alongside some comparably priced bourbons.Craig
wskybnt
I bought a bottle last year. I was so-so, at best. Probly wont get another one. It's priced like WT101, and a couple of bucks more expensive than OW Antq 107, and Old Granddad BIB, and it was not as good as any of those to me....... cas
I tried it over the weekend. Definitely a mixer.Craig

smokinjoe
Oh, that reminds me. Last week I saw a couple of stores that had a Mail-In Rebate Offer neck tag on OC 101's. Or, I think it was a rebate offer, as I didn't read the details. Anyway, it was something like $5 back on the 750, and $10 back on the 1.75. That makes the decent price point on this one, even better, I think.

chefnash51
I picked up a bottle a month or so ago. It was decent (neat), but really didn't leave any kind of impression on me except "ok". I will revisit again at some point.
