Luna56
Having a nice pour in a FR glass I got this fall at the distillery gift shop, and I'm loving this glass. Square on the bottom, round on the top, with "creases" in the corners. Easy to hold, and those "creases" are great for getting those last precious drops out. It was pictured on the old FR website, but I don't see any pics of it on the revamped site. They told me at the shop that they didn't have any more, the display model was the last one. But one of the sweet gals at the shop went out back and found two for me. Don't know if they've truly been discontinued, but if you're at the FR gift shop, see if they can find you one. It's a real nice glass. Cheers!
craigthom
What you describe is the old glass, and I think it has been discontinued. The new one is rounder and has a raised rose on the bottom.
callmeox
I've got a dozen of the new glasses. They're no Glencairn, but they're the perfect size to me (a decent pour doesn't get lost in it and you there's room for a cube if you prefer). Luna56
I was tempted to pick up some of the new glasses (they had a few different styles) but the square bottomed one caught my eye. Classy appearance, excellent utility.I have a whole lot of different glasses to choose from, they're one of the few little treats I allow myself now that I have accepted that I can't make a decent espresso for shit! (To upgrade to a better machine I'm looking at spending $1500, maybe more. Sheesh.)There doesn't seem to be a link to the gift shop on Four Roses' site, unfortunately. Maybe I'll try to snap a photo or pull one off the web if anybody's curious.Cheers!
camduncan
Sounds like the ones I picked up at the Sampler back in May. They are great glasses to drink from. I've also got a set of 6 Bundaberg Rum glasses in the same shape, and they've been a favourite to drink from for years.
Luna56
Are the rum glasses the same size as the FR glasses? I'd like to find this shape in a larger size. There's something really classy about a great big glass with three fingers of good whiskey gleaming at the bottom.Cheers!
camduncan
The Four Roses and Bundy Rum glasses I have are all the same size - 250ml. I also got a slightly smaller size glass at the Sampler as well - it appeared to be about 2/3 in size compared to the others. Unfortunately I had to leave the smaller ones behind at the Geenral Nelson when we checked out as I'd run out of room in the box I was shipping back to Australia (The cleaners would have gotten a pretty good collection from me - I left about 7 or 8 various distillery glasses in the room)
New2Whiskey
Do they have gift pack available?
fishnbowljoe
I saw a FRSmB gift pack at Binny's yesterday. It came with a glass and a wooden muddler. Joe
