Vange
I didnt know how better to describe the subject so here is the story.I went over for a casual dinner to my cousins place this past Friday. After dinner and some wine we retreated to his family room for some after dinner drinks. I brought with me 2 half empty bottles, Pappy 23 and WT Tribute. After he did sampled them head to head he preferred the Tribute as it had less "bite", but overall he was totally taken back by the quality of both spirits. He had never had whisky like this before and he really liked them. He did say they were a tad too strong so he tried an ice cube, but said that ruined it. After some experimentation he liked them the best neat to trully capture the essence. After the sampling he asked about the price and where he could get some. The Tribute is gone, but I told him he could buy the WTAS if he could find it. A fun night and I was glad I could convert someone over to our side. He did ask lots of questions which I was happy to answer about bourbon vs scotch vs irish whiskey vs whatever. I am sure many others of you out there have some similar experiences maybe with different results though.
ILLfarmboy
Nice. Was your cousin, before this, a scotch drinker exclusively, or did he enjoy any type of whiskey before being introduced WT Tribute and Pappy 23?
Vange
He has had Jim Beam and JD and various single malt scotches when we go out golfing. He seemed to like Auch 3W, but I cant say he was crazy about it.
