Indy sampler night

Hey, all you Indy Bourbon fanatics......

I remember someone saying that there is a liquor store that does sampling on Wednesday nights, but I cannot remember who or where :smiley_acbt:

Can you help me out????

Not sure about any regular Wednesday samplings (but if there is one I would suggest calling Kahn's to see if its there), but I do know that Payless on Carmel Dr (in Carmel <G>) is having a free tasting of Bubblies this Wednesday 6:30 to 8PM.

Sorry you didn't find a worthwhile tasting at any of the stores that night, but thanks for inviting me to the birdhouse for the 'informal' tasting! IIRC there were, after about three hours of the most enjoyable whiskey drinking I've ever had the pleasure of doing, 27 bottles on the table.

The highlights for me were the Old Fitz vertical (85,92,present?), comparing this year's PVW 15 to the hand selected barrel (and a ORVW in the handwritten bottle?), Old Eagle Rare vs. current, Hirsch gold foil, the Stagg/Willett (16 yo?) comparison, trying the 27 yo (?) Willett, Blantons barrel proof- but by the time we got to barrel proof my pallete felt like it had run a marathon! I really wish I'd have taken some notes...

The one I could still taste and smell (and almost chew) the next day was the older Willett though, which was unlike anything I've ever had. Thanks again for opening your great bar for a sampler Scott!

I, too, was quite surprised how much better the PVW 15 BD.com selection was vs. the current release. they were quite different.:skep:

As usual, Tom placed the bar high for hospitality and fixin's! His pork tenderloin, vege chips, crab dip, chicken and wrapped asparagus was all yummy! Dessert was even better!!

The bourbon wasn't bad either :grin: Nice to meet Skunk and Heather :grin:

Mmmmmmm. OGD-Glazed Pork Tenderloin. Dawn is right, don't go to Pizza Hut on the way (like we did). Thanks for everything Tom!

You and Barb will have to come up for mussels and frites at the Brugge next time. I forgot to mention we only live a block away :-) Of course everyone else will be invited, but don't expect such a great spread!!

It was great having everyone over last night.....while everyone brought some interesting items to taste, it was the people that really made the evening.

Jeff, it was great to meet you and Heather. You never have to twist my arm (or Barbs) to hit Brugge. Can't go wrong Ripple Tripel and Provancale Mussels. I got the idea for the Nutella mousse from their Nutella crepes.

Don't worry Scott, there will be another one (though we'll probably wait until the weather is at least warm enough to have a fire out on the deck -- and use the grill).

Emily and I are both sorry we missed a famous Barb/Tom event. always good food and good drink.

Unfortunately, we had made plans to attend the MM Christmas Lights.
