GreggB
"Discontinued expression" would be the clearest term for the examples you gave.Sounds good to me.Maybe we don't need a third term for a third class of "discontinued-by-some-means" bourbon, but on the other hand, maybe we should enrich our own language of bourbon, our own jargon. So, in addition to bourbons from no-longer-operating distilleries (those being "ghost bourbons"), and those bourbon bottlings dropped from the line of an operating distillery (those being "discontinued expressions"), what about a third category for those one-issue-each-year bourbons, such as the OFBB and the BT Antique Collection bourbons?Thoughts, suggestions? GreggB
I did find 3 bottles of Centennial in an out-of-the-way store, but I just bought two of them.Something must be wrong with me ...
libertybar
Hi Christian --It appears to be confirmed that the OC Proprietor's Reserve 13 year old and the Weller Centennial are discontinued.Gregg The next question (and I have not finished reading all four pages of replies, so this question may be answered), is what will they do with the stock? Or, is the stock depleted?
cowdery
Using the available whiskey, of whatever age, in the most profitable way is the whole point of the exercise. They are discontinuing less profitable products so they can use the whiskey they have in more profitable products.
