I have been keeping watch on the Weller Antique 107 for about 7 or 8 months now at my local watering hole. There has been 3 bottles on the shelf up till about two weeks ago, one was gone. I have heard great thing of this bourbon and definitely wanted to try it, especially since it is not made any longer. I just could not bring myself to spending 35 on this 5th. I was back in there this weekend and there was only one bottle left , better snatch it while I can! Boy could I kick myself now. This is some of the best bourbon that I have ever tried. Wow is all I can really say about it. Has anyone else had this experience before? I can tell you, this was my first experience doing this and also will be my last. Now, my question is, is there another product that equals the tast of the Weller 107? I know the store carries the 80 proof and the 90 proof. Are either of these good substitutes for the 107. I really hate that I waited for the last bottle. Thanks for reading!

Tried Weller Antique 107 for the first time last night. Definitely one of the finest bourbons I've tried so far. Color me highly impressed. Amazingly smooth for its proof, yet tasty. I'm no pro at describing bourbon, but I know what I like, and I'm fast learning what I do NOT like. I'm not a bourbon snob nor am I a top shelf buyer. But I'm willing to pay a little more for the quality of WLW Antique anyday. My 750ml bottle was just under $20 here in Lexington. It's a very popular item here, and the shelves are never bare. Eat your heart out!!!

Wait ... did you say NOT MADE ANY LONGER???

OWA 107 has been discontinued? Was there a thread I missed? I hope that's not the case!

Anyway, IMHO the other expressions of Weller (aside from the AC one) don't hold a candle to it. You may want to look for some of the Van Winkle whiskeys. They're made by the same distillery and are also Wheated bourbons, like Weller. The Lot B is very popular and there are many others. I would not recommend the Old Rip Van Winkle 10 y/o tho. Just kinda blah to me.

Weller antique has not been discontinued. Weller doesn't make an 80 proofer, either. Their W.L. Weller Special reserve is 90 proof, as is their 12 year old. The antique is 107 proof and the discontinued Weller Centennial is 100 proof.

Try W.L. Weller Special reserve side by side w/ the 90 proof Maker's Mark and you'll find it blows makers away for a QPR comparison.

I could have sworn that the Antique 107 has been discontinued. I have only found one store in Middle TN that even had a few bottles. Everywhere that used to carry it has told me that they can no longer get it. If there is anyone in the Middle TN area that knows where I can pick some more up, I would greatly appreciate it.

Maybe I was looking at another bottle that was 80 proof that was near the Weller bottles and thought it was a Weller. I may check out some other Weller bottles now, I have usually stuck with the higher Rye stuff.

I checked into this today and I have an email from the brand manager for Weller at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort assuring me that there is no truth to any rumour of plans to discontinue Old Weller Antique 107.

As others have stated, The Weller Centennial 100 proof has been discontinued. Weller Antique 107 is still being produced. I'll gladly send you some Antique 107 for some Centennial! Joe

PS I'm not being a smart a$$. I like the Centennial better than the Antique. I can get the Antique here where I live. Trying to find the Centennial any more is really tough.

You must be referring to the ORVW 10/90, which I agree is pretty underwhelming compared to the ORVW 10/107. If you haven't had the ORVW 10/107, you should give it a try.

For a while, the Weller line distribution slowed down due to (reportedly) limited quantities available. I believe that was this last Spring/Summer. I've seen Weller back on the shelves so maybe BT is back in full swing. $35 is very high for Antique. It should be ~ $20 a 750. In fact, Binny's has it for $18.99. At either of those prices, it's an exceptional pour (at a great proof).

You're not the first person to tell me that. I haven't been able to find that expression anywhere. If I run across it and it is reasonably priced, I'll give it a go. Just got burned by it once and been shy about Van Winkles since.

I just got back from the store I picked up the last bottle last weekend. To my surprise the shelves are completely restocked with the 107!!! I know the last time I talked with the owner he said the three on the shelf would be the last. Oh I am so glad he was wrong. And another shocker is that it went from 35 down to 21 a bottle!! I picked another one up just for safe keeping! I also picked up a bottle of Weller Special Reserve and another Old Forester Signature, which they were also out of last weekend. Anyway, glad to see this back on the shelves here. Thanks for reading!

That OF Sig is a damn good whiskey, hard to get much better than that at ANY price, IMO (unless it's a 4R or VOB).

My guess is that you were given the standard BS answer with the OWA 107. "We can't get any more"= "we want to finish off this order before the next shipment comes in."
