sotnsipper
Just thinking over the past few days. If I could only buy just one bottle of bourbon, what would it be. I have been considering price vs. taste while thinking also. I have concluded that it would have to be Old Forrester Signature. What would yours be? Of course, I hope it never comes down to only having to choose only 1!!!!
OscarV
It seems like my choice is constantly changing. As of today I'd have to say Van Winkle Special Reserve Lot B.This latest release is pure cherry cordials.
bvscfanatic
That is an extremely difficult decision to have to make. Old Forrester Signature is one I could certainly be very happy with forever if it were the only bourbon left on earth. I'm not sure it would be my #1 though. My current favorites are, ironically, Old Grand Dad 114 and Old Weller Antique 107. I call this ironic since one is a high rye bourbon while the other is a well known wheater. I justify that because, while they might be on opposite ends of the spectrum in taste, they are on the same end of the spectrum in quality. chilidawg7
Any of the Stagg releases. Excellent quality pour, and powerful enough to last me a while.
ILLfarmboy
It seems like my choice is constantly changing.I admit to the same thing. If I could have WT RR 101 that would satisfy both my Turkey desires and my desire for something deeper and richer than either 101 or Rare Breed. But alas, I don't think the question was meant to include iterations no longer available. Weller Antique would come close to perfect so long as I could also have rye to satisfy that itch for something with rye spice.

If I could only buy just one bottle of bourbon it would be....100 proof or higher. :yum:
fishnbowljoe
Nice answer Dan. It is hard to pick just one. Of bourbons no longer available, my choice would be ER 101, with Weller Centennial a very close second. As for bourbons currently available, that is tougher yet. If price were no object I'd probably choose the BTAC WLW, with the BTAC ER17 as number two. If price was a consideration too, my pick would be Weller Antique and a tie for second between ERSB 10/90 and Weller 12. Joe
callmeox
If it was a magic bottomless bottle, I'd pick DougDog's 22 year old Willett to keep me company. For something that is available without having to give up a limb and or your first born, I have to agree with Oscar and would pick the Lot B. BlueRobot
2008 Stagg.I didn't even have to try to debate a few.I know I'm new, but I have been sampling a wide variety in a short time.
kickert
If I could only buy 1 bottle the rest of my life it would be 08 Stagg. If I had to pick one bourbon to drink the rest of my life it would be Weller
funknik
I would say Rare Breed, although it's not my favorite everyday bourbon, it's got everything I like rolled into one....sweet brown sugar, peppery rye spice, a hint of flowers and herbs and, of course, a proof of 108+ that's still very easy going down. Stu
A lot of excellent choices, especially lot B. Personally, of bourbons currently available, I'd go for Four Roses SB with EC 18 coming in second.

TBoner
I also concur on Rare Breed. However, I'd be hard pressed to give up OGD Bonded. If we included those discontinued bourbons, I'm with Brad on RR101, though OC 12 is a close second.Regards,
Buffalo Bill
I went through my entire collection - my choice was 2006 OFBB. It's still my #1 but the Pappy 15 is hard to let go of... BB
