NCL Norwegian Cruise Ship Jewel Selection

Trina & I recently went on NCL Jewel cruise. I have cruised several other lines and have not been impressed with the on board whiskey selection. However, this ship had a Whisky Bar with some very interesting selections:

ER 10 101 - $8.50

Jim Beam Masterpiece 20 YO Port - $17.50

Hirsch 16 Gold Wax - $9.75

Knob Creek - $6.25

WT 101 8 YO - $5.75

Makers - $5.75

Elmer T Lee - $8.50

ORVW 20 - $8.50

Their pricing is all over the board and seems to have little to do with cost of product. This was at the one special bar. The other bars on the ship had the WT, Blantons, and Makers. A single bartender worked this bar pretty much every hour it was open. He was a very strict measured pour guy. and the pours were small 1 oz, maybe 1.25 oz. The pours at the other bars were more generous.

This bar also had an extensive Scotch selection. They had a "Kinclaith 1969 Rarest of the Rare" for $95 a pour. I was sitting at the bar when a waiter brings in a order for this. The bartender freaked out and insisted waiter double check that customer knew it was $95 and not $9.50.

Crazy price distubution. It makes ordering some very easy and others very hard. Who would order BT for 8.50 when you can get VW20 for the same price?

Forget Pappy 20..... I'd drink that Hirsch 16 GW until it was GONE !!!!:grin:
