rockporter
My wife and I just spent 8 days in Cosat Rica. Lots of fun and activities but no bourbon to speak of. We stayed in the better places and the only whiskies were JD, Jim Beam white, Crown Royal and Johnnie Walker Red and Black. After some Crown Royal one night I decided it was to be a gin vacation - Tangerauy and Bombay Sapphire were everywhere. However, I'm glad to be back where the bourbon flows. craigthom
I speak regularly to people in Costa Rica for work, and they have no idea what bourbon is. It may be a vocabulary thing, though. They do know the word "whiskey".

rockporter
They kniow whiskey - the first night I walked into teh bar and the bartender looked at me and said "Whiskey?" I said sure, what bourbons do you have? He looked at me strangely and pointed to teh Johnni Walker Red. Then I knew I would be making other drinking plans.
