I have been ignoring this thread... but not intentionally....

I tend to ignore HH products that aren't EC or EWSB.

Is there something in that price range that should not be ignored?

I would give OF SIG a try if you have not. You can usually got the 1.75 in this price range.

EC18 is $45 around here, so it doesn't fit my $30-$40 criteria. Still struggling to find something in that price range thats worthy. As long as you asked though, I have not tried the EC18 yet. I had a bad experience with EC12. Just hated it. So I am weary of his big brother.

ahh, unfortunate. i may be mistaken about it's price...i seem to remember i bought it on sale for $34.95. anyway, what about the ec12 did you hate? because the ec18 has a very specific taste, but it's a pretty elegant pour, imo.

From what I've tasted, ignoring KBD is a good idea on the whole with the exception of Rowan's Creek which is really good. I'd like to try Noah's Cistern or whatever it is that is an older version.

I'll keep my eye out for EC18 on sale, I do want to try it. As far as EC12, my bottle tasted like plywood. This bourbon seems to have one of the widest range of opinions on this board. Many have have called it inconsistent. Even fans of EC12 have reported that they have gotten a bad bottle. I may love it next time I try it, if that ever happens.

But that means no Blanton's

I always thought it odd that they had a dumped on date info, but no distilled on date info on their bottles.

If you are referring to Noah's Mill, then I'd definitely recommend a try, very good stuff.

OK, I have an unopened bottle of that and we've never tried it.....time to open it.

Went bourbon hunting today...

I intentionally ignored a OCPR in the "gin bottle" and a Weller Centennial Frankfort. Both were priced $49.95.

I couldn't ignore the case of GTS 2008.
