Geez, it looks like I talk too much

If it was not for active members, there would not be anything to read... and remember, the VBT game really skews posts and posts per day.

I do not recall any max postings and posts per day rules on this site. This site is tame compared to most. With this many members and how long the site has been around it is amazing that there are not a lot of 10K posters with closer to 10 posts per day.

If you want to judge your volume to worth ration, look at the responses or lack of responses to your posts... you have huge sresponse and following... keep it up man, I like reading your stuff...

.... and out posts just went up a couple more :D

If we keep posting to this thread, the three of us can keep our spots at the top!!!

I agree with Em... I would get a lot more done, but be significantly more bored if it weren't for people who post every couple hours.

Geez, it looks like I talk too much -- sorry, guys.

There's a natural tendency for newcomers to post more frequently than old-timers. Over the years one's enthusiasm can't help but wane.

When I first joined, I checked for new posts several times a day and had a comment or question in response to most of them. Now I'm in lurk mode 99% of the time (partly due to the fact that my alcohol consumption is now limited for medical reasons).

Besides, does anyone really care that I had a sip of Blanton's recently and liked it better than I remembered? (I posted about a year ago that in my near-abstinence my preference for WT RR 101 vs. the 90 proof had reversed, but Blanton's? :skep: My taster is obviously out of shape.)

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield

Hmm...1.13 posts per day v 2.77...:slappin:

Plus... I gotta say... Timothy is much sassier in his 2.77 posts per day.

If I ever make on this list, then it is time to find a new hobby.

Oh, it's you...didn't realize you were still around these parts...

I tend to be impressed by quality of posts over quantity.

Many of my posts have been thread killers, either out of my blazing wit or searing stupidity.

I'm somewhat in the same mode as Dave historically, I used to post a lot more when I could read every post at a leisurely pace. But with so many members now I can't even begin to read half the daily posts anymore. I've taken more of a shotgun approach and I'm sure I've missed many really enjoyable posts. I guess I'm a 486 processor on a thread that's gone quad core.

I guess that makes me a dual-floppy, 8086 machine with 640K of RAM.

A shame there is no count for posts perused. I've learned a lot from these forums. At some point in the future I'll disseminate the wisdom I've gleaned here and claim it as my own to get my post count up to snuff.

Cheers!

P.S. Proud to have "earned" the honor of Connoisseur!

If one is to plagiarize, a good place to start would be with the posts of Marvin, key words: taste, tasting.

His knowledge is at once enlightening and intimidating. I now resign myself to being a drinker, albeit an infrequent one these days, not a taster.

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield

Couldn't get the link to work, but thanks, Dave. I'll do some searching.

Cheers!

Damn! I keep forgetting that search results are only saved for a short time.

Just redo the advanced search using the parameters in my earlier post. If you've never read Marvin's posts before, you will be amazed.

Here's a f'rinstance. It's the first of several parts -- eight IIRC.

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield
