ILLfarmboy
You'd have a point if EW black said how old their bourbon was, it's just says extra aged. When the "before" and "after" ad appeared featuring the supposed late bloomer EW Black carried an age statement of seven years. Look closely at the ad, bottom, just left of center.

ILLfarmboy
Brad The bottle doesn't have an age statement on it any longer. PaulI know. The seven year age statement was dropped about two years ago. My point was that the older advertisement featuring the "before" and "after" pictures (when EW contained carried the age statement) used the model to convey something about the product. The newer ads just feature some T & A and convey nothing about the product. Its just a sexy model. Then again, its harder for those who design the ads to make a point about "getting better with age", using a model since Evan Williams has dropped the age statement. It doesn't resonate as well. As you said, now the label just says "aged to perfection". So, with the new ads they dropped the "before" picture and just went with the sexy model instead of coming up with a new idea or slogan. That's why I said it struck me as low brow. I reckon the new ad still works. Especially given its target demographic in Maxim. Did the older "before" and "after" ads continue to run after EW droped the age statement? If they did, I wasn't aware of that. Perhaps thats where there is some confusion. Additionally, at first, I took it that that you didn't see the age statement in the older advertisement posted by Scott. It shows a seven year statement on both the ad copy and the bottle that's pictured carries the 7 year age statement on its label. What am I missing? Stu
Have you seen the Nutrisystem commercials? Those before and after pictures not only show that aging can improve, it also shows the affect that the "angels share" has on the whiskey.
